Destiny 2: Rat King weapon - how to get? Destiny 2 Guide
Last update: 25 March 2021
In this chapter of our game guide you will learn how to get one of the Exotic weapons in Destiny 2 - Rat King.
The Rat King is an Exotic sidearm (semi-automatic pistol) that can be acquired by solving a series of puzzles. It guarantees increased magazine capacity and range compared to similar weapons, temporary immunity during reloading when you have previously killed an opponent, and most importantly, a power bonus when your allies also use this weapon (e.g. during games in The Crucible, or during Raids).
Rat King - How to acquire it?
To acquire the weapon, you must complete a series of three missions on Titan that appear after the end of the main storyline (missions in linear order). These quests are marked with a navy blue icon with a crown. When you complete them all, you will see something that is not a weapon in the kinetic weapons slot. It's an item that will become a weapon after completing a series of puzzles (under no circumstances don't get rid of this item - you will then miss the chance of obtaining the Rat King). The objectives that have to be completed are hidden and must be completed one at a time - but you are informed of the completion of each stage. Weapon will appear in your inventory automatically when you complete all tasks and challenges under certain conditions. To perform these tasks, you need a companion - another player. The list of tasks that has to be performed in the appropriate order is shown below:
- Perform a patrol mission from Cayde-6 after completion of the storyline and additionally perform two Patrol missions with a companion;
- Complete two public events with at least one companion in the team;
- Play two games in The Crucible with a companion;
- After completing the steps in the right order, you must finally complete the Nightfall: The Ordeal (available once a week) quickly enough to have at least 5 minutes of time left on the counter after defeating the final boss. It is a difficult task and it's hard to tell if you will succeed after your first try.
