Destiny 2: Awoken Talisman - how to unlock Dreaming City? Destiny 2 Guide

In this chapter of our game guide you will learn how to complete the Awoken Talisman quest and how to unlock the Dreaming City.
To begin the Awoken Talisman quest, you must first complete the Forsaken campaign and unlock Petra Venj NPC. You have to visit Petra in order to take the first step towards unlocking the Dreaming City.

Broken Awoken Talisman
At the very beginning of this quest, Petra will ask you to find three pieces of the broken talisman that have been hidden somewhere in The Lost Sector locations on the Tangled Shore planet. The map below shows all the points you need to visit in order to get the parts of the shattered talisman.

- 2 - In the hearth of Spider's web;
- 3 - In a rare green place.
Mended Awoken Talisman - how to quickly complete it?
After completing the earlier stage of the task, return to Petra and you will receive the Mended Awoken Talisman item. Your next quest consists in charging the talisman with the power absorbed from the fallen Taken opponents.
You have to kill opponents of the Taken type from which the talisman will draw dark energy. The best and fastest way to complete the Key of Light and Darkness quest is to go to the Io planet and enter the location of The Lost Sector Sanctum of Bones marked in the image above.
After one run-through of the Sanctum of Bones sector the Talisman will be recharged around 17-20%. Thus, you will have to repeat this action approximately 5-6 times. Fortunately, the Sanctum of Bones sector is very close to the teleporter, so after you've killed all your opponents and collected the loot, you can teleport to this place and start all over again.
Near the teleporter there is an NPC from whom you can take Bounties that you can perform while leveling the Mended Awoken Talisman. This will gain you additional experience points, as well as other items.
Semi Charged Awoken Talisman
Your next quest consists in drawing the dark energy during a public event called Ether Harvest. This event takes place on the location of Four-Horn Gulch but its occurrence is entirely random so you would have to wait for the relevant event to complete the task. Fortunately, there's a quicker way to do it!
Go to the place marked on the screen above - if you happen to run across an Ether Harvest event, you will be able to complete the quest immediately. Otherwise, kill a few enemies and wait until a stronger opponent with a yellow health bar and energy shield appears on the map. Once you eliminate the stronger opponent in this area, the quest will be completed without the need of finishing the Ether Harvest event.
Balanced Awoken Talisman
The Balanced Awoken Talisman will allow you to enter the Dreaming City. However, you'll need to complete a few quick missions first, so look for the corresponding quest markers on the map. After completing these tasks, you can go to Petra Venj, who will have additional quests and Bounties from now on.
