Crucible - General advice

Before you jump into Crucible mode, you should know a few key tips that will make your gameplay easier, allow you to work better with your team, and increase your chances of winning PvP matches.

  1. TTK (Time to Kill) - a term that determines how long it takes to kill an opponent with a specific weapon depending on what equipment and attributes he has. Here, you'll find brilliant Dreamwalker's spreedsheet, where you can track and check all necessary stats;
  2. Bounties - before you enter Crucible mode, make sure you have bought all Bounties from, for example, Lord Shaxx, who can be found in The Tower. New daily tasks appear each day at 19: 00 CET;
  3. Team play is important - during team matches of PvP you function as one team so try not to carry out lone attacks on your opponent's position, because at best it will end in the exchange of just 1 frag;
  4. Radar - learn to read and use the radar as it is a very useful tool during PvP combat. Blue dots on the radar indicate allies, and red dots betray the enemy's position;
  5. Key attributes - some of the key attributes in PvP gameplay are Resilience, Recovery and Mobility. The former increases the character's maximum amount of health points, and the latter accelerates health regeneration rate while your character remains out of combat. Mobility affects how quickly a character will move, and thus affects the ability to dodge and strafe;
  6. Headshots - headshots are the fastest and most effective way to eliminate more targets;
  7. Skills - each character class has different skills so you need to find the character that suits you best. The fact that in PvE you play, for example, as Titan does not mean that you cannot create a Hunter only for PvP clashes;
  8. Maps - learn the layout of the maps and use this knowledge to your advantage. Remember the points where your opponents will most likely going to appear. Be careful in the open field and learn how to swiftly move from point A to point B, etc. The best way to learn in-game maps is to create a private game and enjoy a peaceful sightseeing tour;
  9. Shooting - if you use an automatic weapon, learn more about its recoil, because the longer you shoot, the more the direction of the projectiles changes;
  10. Terrain obstacles - use any terrain obstacles that will give you a good cover from your opponent's sight and try to attack first;
  11. Power Ammo - heavy ammo will appear in random places on the map so if you have the opportunity to do so, use it to refill your supplies.

Crucible - Gameplay variants

By moving to The Crucible view, players can choose between multiple gameplay variants among which they can select one of the following modes:

  1. Clash - a typical deathmatch in which each player fights for maximum frag points individually;
  2. Control - in this mode of gameplay, teams must take over checkpoints and eliminate opponents there. The more points you take over the more points you get for eliminating your opponent;
  3. Elimination - in this mode, players enter the game in 3-man groups, and the match is divided into rounds. To win the round, all contestants from the opposing team must be eliminated;
  4. Survival - another mode in which 3-manned teams of fight. The goal of each team is to exhaust the lives pool of the opponent's team;
  5. Countdown - a 4-on-4 game in which the player's objective is to plant / disarm an explosive charge or eliminate the opponent's team;
  6. Trials of Osiris - end game PvP mode in which players' objective is to win 7 3-on-3 games in a row;

In Destiny 2, there are also other variants of The Crucible PvP gameplay, some of which change weekly and combine rules from two other modes. Some combinations can be really interesting and surprising.
