Destiny 2: Dodges - combat Destiny 2 Guide
Last update: 25 March 2021
In this chapter of the Destiny 2 game guide you will find all the relevant information about dodges and how to use them during combat.
Performing dodges in Destiny 2 is one way to reduce injuries and thus increase your character's chances of survival - especially during PvP combat. Some characters possess healing abilities (Warlock), others have shields (Titan), but in case of the Hunter, the dodge ability is the only way to evade the incoming attack.
Dodge in Destiny 2
Note that each character class has slightly different behaviors, mobility and gameplay style. If you're not trying to attack most of your opponents from longer range, then most powerful missiles and projectiles can be dodged while they're still flying at you, or sometimes you can even shot them down. Melee combat is the best option against weaker enemies. But what if the plan doesn't go your way? The easiest thing to do is to jump away and hide behind any cover. However, each class can behave differently in this situation: Titan will use barrier skills, Hunter - dodging skills, and Warlock can use the melee attack, which in the default configuration can push back and repel opponents.
Remember that your health points regenerate after a while, so sometimes it's worth hiding in an inaccessible place and recover a bit. When playing with other players, it is much easier, because if you stop shooting and your fellow players don't, then the enemy will usually focus his firepower on your allies.
