The Temple of Scar | Strongholds in Anthem Anthem Guide and Walkthrough
Last update: 13 March 2019
This Stronghold is unlocked only after completing the main story.
The Temple of Scar is the third Stronghold found in Anthem. This is probably the longest and maybe the most difficult mission. You begin on an arena which is filled with Scars and snipers; mostly these are elite units with shields.
Arena I
Your first task is to destroy three turrets - use the covers on vantage points to get closer to your target without taking damage. Hit the tanks at the backs of the turrets to maximize damage.
You need to destroy 6 alarm boxes before leaving the arena. The next area will be accessible only if you defeat the remainder of the enemy force. There is a gate behind the corner - you won't get through it until you defeat the Gatekeeper (an Enforcer).
Arena II
Start by getting to the rear of the enemy, where the situation is much less dangerous than at the first line. Here, you need to find three fuel containers lying on the ground and place them at the gate in a special place. Similarly, as in the case of artifacts, you cannot fly when carrying items and you can carry only one item at once.
When all containers are in place, you can proceed to the next arena. You encounter a lot of snipers, normal Scars and Enforcers along the way. Don't fight them - this is not your goal and you can simply fly to the next arena.
Arena III
Your next objective is similar to the previous one - you need to find five containers which installed underneath the door will unlock it. Watch out, as one of the containers found below the platform is surrounded by mines. Take care of the opponents, as this area has to be cleared before you can move on to the next one. Get ready for a lot of opponents, including Enforcers. Completing this stage is rewarded with a loot chest.
Arena IV
Along the way to the next arena, you'll encounter a lot of Scars, as well as turrets. You don't need to fight them. Make sure the group is together before entering the new arena. Get ready - the new area is very small, while there are numerous enemies all across it. Destroy four turrets (objective), but first, get rid of the snipers. Start with destroying the turrets found on elevations - attacking the turrets that are on the ground level exposes you to fire from those located above.
The final battle takes place before the gate that will lead you to a boss encounter. The gate is well defended: start by eliminating turrets by firing at their backs - you could use someone who will focus the enemy fire (e.g. Colossus with a shield).
Boss - escari Scelos
escari Scelos is one of the most difficult bosses in Anthem, making The Temple of Scar one of the most difficult missions to finish. The most important thing in this encounter is to pay attention to your surroundings. Dangers include guided boss attacks, opponents appearing in regular intervals of time, and huge fans which deal a lot of damage - getting in their way may end with your death.
Scelos' weak points are his legs. The fight goes as follows:
- Attack the boss' legs to deal as much damage as possible - use your best attacks from the beginning of the encounter.
- Scelos receives a shield - he is invulnerable to damage until you destroy huge fans that power his shield.
- The fans can only be destroyed by firing at their pivots, but only when they are exposed (the fan has metal shields which make every other bullet hit its target)
- When destroying the fans search for cover and watch out for incoming opponents - above all, stay behind cover; a huge supply of ammo and good weapons play an important part in this battle.
- Repeat the process until the opponent is down
During his attacks, Escari uses a powerful turret with a high rate of fire; the second attack is guided rockets. Attempting melee attacks may end with being trampled, as the boss constantly moves around his circle.
