Is it possible that loot may disappear in Athem? Anthem Guide and Walkthrough
Last update: 21 February 2019
Finding loot is a very important aspect of Anthem, yet the game does not inform you directly if it's kept permanently. This page of the guide answers the question - Can loot disappear after returning to Fort Tarsis?
As a reminder, loot appears in game as various colored objects that can appear e.g. at the body of a defeated opponent or drop from a loot chest. You need to approach the loot to be able to pick it up and add it to your backpack.
You cannot learn what object you've looted until the end of the expedition. The game only informs you of its rarity. For example, a grey object means that you've found a common item (of the lowest quality)
Expedition summary screen is the moment of passing the found loot. One of the tabs will display all received items (shown in the screenshot above). You can look through them and salvage the items that you won't need anymore.
Sometimes, the expedition can end pre-maturely, which can happen if e.g. you lose connection with the server or leave the expedition and skip the summary screen. In that case, the scored items are stored in a backpack in the pilot's inventory (see screenshot above). They should appear on the list of rewards after you finish the next expedition.
If you do not get the loot it will be forfeit and won't appear on the expedition summary screen. The only exception from this rule are Legendary and Masterwork items - these are automatically assigned to the hero.
