Strongholds in Anthem - general informations Anthem Guide and Walkthrough
Last update: 01 March 2019
Strongholds are special types of expeditions in Anthem. They feature highest difficulty level of all expeditions, offering a lot of loot and a chance to earn many experience points. Completing them often requires full cooperation within the squad.
Conquering strongholds is divided into several stages. Upon completing a single stage, make sure to look around for loot crates (especially due to the high chance of finding high level masterwork items) that can be often found in a clearly visible place. These crates usually hide rare items. Importantly: if you leave the game at this point (by ending the session and waiting for the data to synchronize with servers) both experience and gathered loot will be retained by your character. Each Stronghold fight is completed by a special boss fight.
- Notice that it is best to play Strongholds at a difficulty level higher than Difficult (after reaching level 30) in order to maximize the chance of finding masterwork loot.
- Remember that each Stronghold is a respawn restricted area. Upon loosing health, there is nothing you can do until a team member heals you. Should the entire squad fall, you all start from the nearest checkpoint.
In order to start a Stronghold expedition, locate a Purple tower icon on the map. You can complete it countless number of times. Upon starting the game you can complete only one available Stronghold - Tyrant Mines. After completing the game's main story, you unlock the access to two more: Temple of Scar, and Heart of Rage. It is possible that after the next game updates, another Strongholds will be added.
