Repairs and Inspiration; Return to the Heart of Rage | Anthem walkthrough Anthem Guide and Walkthrough
Last update: 11 March 2019
Repairs and Inspiration and Return to the Heart of Rage are two final missions in Anthem. The first one consists of a few conversations, the latter is a full-fledged expedition that ends with a fight with the final boss - the Monitor.
Repairs and Inspiration
A very short mission that takes place entirely in Fort Tarsis. Go to the southern part of the fort and find Faye - she is sitting on a fence (see the picture above). Talk to her.
The next person you have to speak with is Haluk. You will find him in the usual spot - in the northern part of the fort.
Return to the Heart of Rage
Preparations for the expedition
Reach the spot where you usually start an expedition. Faye and Haluk are here - speak with them. Confirm that you are ready to start the final mission (see the picture above). You have to know about two things:
- You can access side missions and explore the world even after you complete the main storyline. You will also unlock new side activities which are part of the endgame. Complete them to reach the maximum level and get better loot.
- Increase your Javelin's elemental defense before you start the final mission. The final boss uses a lot of elemental attacks.
The game will play a cut-scene but don't worry, you will see the usual screen where you can choose your teammates or select consumables. We recommend playing this mission with other players. The fight with the final boss can be difficult if you play alone (although it is absolutely possible to win even when you are playing solo).
Reaching the Monitor
Fly to the first location, and face the Dominion forces. Start with destroying Gauss and Flak Turrets. After that, deal with other enemies. Watch out for, e.g. Dominion Frost Brutes (at least one of them will be of the elite version) - keep them at a distance.
Secure the area and move out. The next fight is against an Ancient Ash Titan. Depending on which Javelin class you are using, you can stay up in the air or, e.g. attack the enemy while standing in the same corridor you came here. Also, the nearby ruins will protect you from the Titan's attacks, especially when the Titan is shooting his main laser.
Collect loot dropped by the Titan and move out. You reach a new location with Turrets and Dominion forces. Start with destroying the Turrets. Also, remember to stay away from Frost Brutes.
The game will now block the option to fly - destroy a device called Grounder. Don't rush to the device right after you enter the arena. Try to eliminate at least some of the enemies standing on the ledges. After that, stand in the green zone to start filling up the bar.
After dealing with the Grounder, you will be able to reach the top and move to another location. Your new objective is to find and deliver 10 Echoes. As always, try to eliminate a few enemies before you start looking for the Echoes (eliminate the Valkyrie as fast as you can).
Delivering the Echoes triggers another fight - this time, you have to defeat the Dominion Furies. Try to eliminate them one after another - use your most powerful attacks when a Fury loses her shield. A wounded Fury can surround herself with a spherical shield - destroy it as fast as you can.
Furies drop keys - pick them up. Move out. Reach the interactive part of the wall. Interact it to trigger a cut-scene during which you will meet the Dominion's Monitor.
Fight with the Dominion's Monitor (the final boss)
The Monitor is the game's final boss. The fight is divided into three parts. You don't have to deplete his entire health bar during a single long fight.
The Monitor uses his large melee weapon to perform various attacks. He can make wide swings with it or he can hit the ground after making a long jump. You can avoid both of these attacks by dodging at the right moment.
In the first phase, you have to avoid fire damage. The biggest threat comes from the mines appearing on the battlefield. They explode automatically after a certain period of time. The best way to deal with them is to destroy only a few of those that are close to you or to reach the edge of the map and wait for them to explode. If you get hit by them, you not only lose health but also start burning and have your Javelin overheated.
The second phase starts when the Monitor loses about 1/3 of his health. Fly to the new arena.
In this stage, you have to avoid acid. Dodge the Monitor's range attacks. You should also watch out for Mordant Elementals - they detonate when they get near your character. Fly around the arena and either try to ignore the elementals or destroy a few of them with AoE attacks. Acid damage inflicts a negative status - you lose shield and armor points gradually over time.
The third stage of the fight starts when the Monitor loses about half of his health bar. Fly to the new arena.
In the third stage, your biggest problem is electricity. The Monitor can use this element to attack you from a distance - hide behind rocks, fly around or dodge. If you get hit, you will get electrocuted - this negative status depletes your shield and armor gradually over time. You also have to stay away from energy balls scattered around the arena. They can electrocute you, too - these energy balls will overheat your Javelin.
You don't have to deplete his entire health bar. The Monitor will kneel when his health drops to 1/4. This triggers a cut-scene during which Faye and Haluk will appear. This cut-scene ends the main storyline.
Endgame
Complete the last mission to unlock new endgame activities. The most important ones are:
- New Strongholds - Temple of the Scar, Heart of Rage.
- Challenges of the Legionnaires.
- New regular and legendary contracts.
- Grandmaster difficulty level unlocked - this requires you to reach level 30.
The endgame's rules and attractions are described on a separate page.
