Interceptor class javelin in Anthem Anthem Guide and Walkthrough

Last update: 05 March 2019

On this page of the Anthem game guide, you will find the description of the Interceptor class. The Interceptor is one of the four main classes of Javelins (exosuits). From our description, you will be able to learn about the general applications of the Interceptor class and about the elements of this suit that make it stand out from the rest of the classes.

The description of the Interceptor class is a work in progress. This section will be expanded in the near future to also include suggested builds for this particular class.

Who is the Interceptor class for?

The Interceptor is a class that focuses on agility and delivering fast, precise attacks - Interceptor class javelin in Anthem - Javelin Classes - Anthem Guide

The Interceptor is a class that focuses on agility and delivering fast, precise attacks. As a result, it is a slightly more challenging class to play, but it can be highly effective in the hands of a skilled player.

  1. The Interceptor is the least armoured class out of all of the Javelins available in the game. You have to take this into consideration and avoid being drawn into dangerous engagements and situations.
  2. The Interceptor class is most effective when dealing with single targets and small groups of enemies. The ideal plan of attack for this class involves launching a precise, swift strike at a specific target, and then moving away from the fray before the enemies can launch a counterattack.
  3. The Interceptor is the only class that can execute triple jumps and triple dodges. The second feature should be especially useful when trying to evade enemy attacks.

What abilities does the Interceptor class have?

The Interceptor class is a highly dynamic and agile class.

  1. It doesn't have a lot of health, but it can regenerate its shield rather fast,
  2. This is the only class that can use a triple jump and a triple dodge (hold L. Ctrl - use it while you are in the air to extend the flight),
  3. Can use pistols that have great stats,
  4. Great melee damage and fast attack speed.

One of the most difficult classes to play as - not recommended for beginners. The strategy here is to not expose yourself to enemy attacks, especially to their specials. Use covers and eliminate weaker enemies with your melee attacks - this is the best option to regenerate your health fast.

Assault System (1) - the basic ability - Interceptor class javelin in Anthem - Javelin Classes - Anthem Guide

Assault System (1) - the basic ability. Choose from grenades, mines, dashes or special glaives. These glaives deal a lot of damage to single targets. However, they have a limited range and they fall down after traveling a certain distance. Because of that, you will have problems with hitting airborne targets.

Strike System (2) - an additional ability that works at a close distance. Use them while you are attacking enemies with melee attacks. Many of these abilities must be charged first to maximize the damage.

Support System (3) - you can use two support abilities (press the Z key to use them). Target Beacon reduces an enemy's armor - if the target is weak and has died quickly, this effect is transferred to the nearest enemy. This ability also works great on bosses and elite enemies. Rally Cry removes all negative statuses from your character and your allies. Great in battles with Titans who can set Javelins on fire with a single attack.

Components (4) - The Interceptor doesn't have many components that can increase its durability. Try to have these components in more advanced versions. As for other components, choose those that can increase your attack - either firearms or melee attacks (this depends on your preferred playstyle).

Ultimate skill - you deal massive melee damage for a limited period of time (you cant use other weapons) - Interceptor class javelin in Anthem - Javelin Classes - Anthem Guide

Ultimate skill - you deal massive melee damage for a limited period of time (you can't use other weapons). However, you become slightly slower and you can't fly - use the triple jump to move from one enemy to another. You can use this ability even when the situation isn't perfect for it - it will regenerate your shield and health.

A demonstrative Interceptor build

Choose a Heavy Pistol as your firearm - this weapon works great at a short and medium distance. It doesn't have a high fire rate, but the shots are accurate and they deal good damage. As for the secondary weapon, choose either an LMG with high ammo capacity or an Assault Rifle.

Venom Bomb inflicts acid status on all targets within its radius. - Interceptor class javelin in Anthem - Javelin Classes - Anthem Guide

Assault System - Venom Bomb or Spark Dash are your best choices here (glaives lack accuracy). The bomb has a huge explosion radius that poisons targets - this ability makes enemies lose health over time and prepares them for a combo. Spark Dash allows you to go through enemies, paralyzing them and dealing massive damage.

Strike System - depending on which Assault ability you chose, pick either Tempest Strike or Venom Spray. Tempest Strike deals high damage and it electrocutes enemies. This ability can also activate a combo. You can combine Venom Spray with Spark Dash - weaker enemies will die from either of the attacks. Venom Spray poisons enemies - this skill deals slightly more damage than Tempest Strike.

Support System - Rally Cry is extremely useful, especially when you are frozen and about to get attacked by an enemy, or when your allies are close to dying and negative statuses can kill them. This ability is also useful while playing solo.

Components - choose components that can increase your Javelins durability and increase damage dealt with firearms and melee weapons - Interceptor class javelin in Anthem - Javelin Classes - Anthem Guide

Components - choose components that can increase your Javelin's durability and increase damage dealt with firearms and melee weapons:

  1. Shield Reinforcement - doesn't give you a lot of health points. However, a shield is more important to an Interceptor since it regenerates faster.
  2. Double-Edged Inscription - the best component for an Interceptor. It increases your attack and decreases received damage by 35%. Also, it improves your shield and health points significantly.
  3. Gunner's Inscription - when you move around an arena with a weapon that has a high fire rate, you will need a lot of ammo. This component increases your chance of finding ammo by 50% and increases your ammo capacity by 30% for every weapon.
  4. Special Arms Ammo - if you like Heavy Pistols, this component is for you. It increases the damage dealt with these weapons by 30%. This bonus is much higher than those for other weapons - usually, they receive a 5% damage boost.
