Smoke Bomb skill - The Mechanic

1. After unlocking The Mechanic expert you will gain access to new abilities and one of them is the Smoke Bomb.
2. To unlock the aforementioned skill, you need 3 ingredients - 2 of them are common, but the smoke bomb compressor is a unique material and you have to find it in a specific place in the game world.

Location of the Fallen Mound artifact

1. Bring up the map in the skill window to learn that the smoke bomb compressor is hidden on the moon of Toshara, specifically in the Boulder Forest region (northwestern part of the map).

1. Once you reach the designated area, find the tunnel from the picture. There is a strong wind in the tunnel and by default Kay will be pushed out along with the speeder.
2. Make sure you have the Speed Boost skill unlocked for your speeder - this is the first one associated with the Mechanic (Selo Rovak from Toshara). Activate the boost to get to the other end of the tunnel.

1. You should reach the place in the picture, where you can climb and start the actual part of the journey to get the compressor. You will enter the Fallen Mound location - one of the places from the Artifact Location category.

1. Once again you have to deal with strong winds. In some places it is enough to wait for it to stop and quickly get to the next part.
2. You will also have to shoot ion projectiles at the generators (example in the image). This can temporarily open the covers and stop the wind for a few moments, allowing the heroine to run further.

How to unlock the smoke bomb compressor room?

1. In the same location you will also find 2 levers (image above). It's a simple puzzle - tell Nix to pull one of the levers and at the same time have Kay interact with the second lever.

1. Reach the elevator in the Fallen Mound and it will take you to the location where one of the two large crates is located. It contains the smoke bomb compressor.

Building and using a smoke bomb

1. If you also have the other 2 ingredients (Polycarbonate, MG-2 Power Exceeder), you can immediately unlock the smoke bomb in the expert menu. Otherwise, continue collecting the rest of the materials as loot or visit the appropriate traders.
2. To select a smoke bomb from your inventory, you must hold left on the d-pad and press Square (PS) or X (Xbox).
