Star Wars Outlaws: How to get the Fusioncutter? Star Wars Outlaws guide, tips

The lack of a fusion cutter prevents you from exploring some of the locations in the Star Wars Outlaws game. From our guide you will learn how to get this tool and how to cut cards and unlock new passages.

Last update: 30 September 2024

Steel bars and lack of fusion cutter gadget make it difficult to explore maps in Star Wars Outlaws. On this guide page you will find information on how to get the Fusioncutter and permanently add it to Kay's inventory, as well as how to use this tool to cut through bars and unlock access to secret locations.

Fusioncutter required

  1. The lack of a Fusioncutter won't hinder your progress in the main story, but some optional passages and locations will initially be unavailable. The game will display a message about the missing gadget when approaching the interactive bars. It is worth remembering (or marking on a map) these places, because you will want to return to them later.

When do you unlock Fusioncutter?

You'll unlock the Fusioncutter in the main story, but unfortunately you won't get it until later in the game. You must first:

  1. Take care of the main questline on Toshara and build a hyperdrive that will unlock travel across the galaxy.
  2. Complete the main quests on the planets Kijimi, Tatooine, and Akiva - you can play them in any order.

The Legacy main quest should appear in your journal. Return to the pilot's cabin aboard the Trailblazer. A cut-scene showing the problems with the ND-5 will be played - the main theme will be getting the mechanical companion back to working condition.

  1. You must tackle the Legacy mission right away, because until you complete it you will not be able to freely travel around the game world. The heroes will ask Temmin for help and together you will set off to the droid factory.
  2. Gedeek, who accompanies you, has a fusion cutter and will initially use it to cut through the bars he encounters.
  1. Advance a little further in the quest and Gedeek will give you the Fusioncutter - this tool will be permanently added to Kay's inventory. It will be useful during the mission at the droid factory and after its completion - during free exploration of the world.

How to use Fusioncutter?

  1. There is no additional mini-game associated with using the Fusioncutter. Look for interactive bars in the game world (Nix's sense can highlight them in blue). Performing the interaction will cause Kay to cut through the bars and a new passage will be created.
