Repairing data spike
Upon starting a new game, you'll encounter the protagonist, Kay Vess, getting ready to go out. Exit through the corridor leading to the main hall of the Broken Hoof pub, and then talk to Bram who is standing behind the counter. He will hand you a broken data spike - a multi-tool device used for, among other things, opening locks.
Your first task will be to find a man named Preeban who will help you repair the broken spike. Exit the pub's main door and follow the main street. The yellow mission marker will show you the way.
By holding down the up button on the controller's D-pad you can momentarily move the mission marker from the compass to the space around Kay. This will help you navigate the immediate surroundings.
Talk to Preeban in his shop. After a short conversation, the mechanic will force you to get funds to repair the data spike.
The next sequence will be a tutorial on issuing commands to Nix. Using the on-screen prompts, pickpocket several times with your pet. Passers-by on the street who have money will be highlighted in blue on the command screen.
Once you have collected 100 credits, return to Preeban. He will give you the repaired spike.
How to enter Club Tarsus
Armed with a new tool, you can try to get into the Club Tarsus.
Follow the marker. The bouncers standing in front of the entrance will refuse you entry, so you will have to enter by trickery. Turn into the street to the left of the entrance and then find a garage with a slightly open gate. You will recognize the correct place by the cables leading to the room and the speeder parked inside. You will pass under the gate by crouching.
Go to the lock to the right of the closed door. Check out the tutorial for the rhythmic mini-game for opening locks with the spike.
Once inside, approach the metal structure on the left. Press the button that appears on the screen to use the grappling hook. Then complete a short climbing sequence.
Use Nix and tell him to press the button outside the window.
Inside the club, head to the dance floor and talk to the bartender. She will tell you that the passage to the boss's office leads through the warehouse, which is currently closed.
To get inside, you'll have to steal a keycard from one of the club's guards. You will recognize them by their blue uniforms and armor. When stealing, use Nix's help.
The entrance to the warehouse is in the corridor to the right of the stage.
Crouch and enter the ventilation shaft. When you exit on the other side, you will come across a guard with his back turned. Sneak up to him and take him down.
Enter the boss's office and head directly to the vault. Open the lock using the spike and take the card inside.
This triggers an alarm that will summon the guards. Shoot them down, then escape through the exit on the left.
During the escape you will find yourself in the locker room. The game will present you with Nix's another skill - attacking enemies. Use your pet's help to take down the guard.
After making your way through the building filled with enemies, you'll eventually reach the rooftops. Follow the mission marker showing the pub where Kay lives. Once you return to your room you will get a cut-scene.
Breaking into Sliro's estate
After the story cut-scene ends, your new task will be to sneak past the guards and meet a group of burglars.
Carefully navigate the side streets following the mission marker. After meeting the team of thieves you will be transported near Sliro's manor.
Follow the path among the steep rocks until you reach the property.
In the courtyard, the game will present you with stealth and takedown mechanics. Use tall grass, whistling, and Nix to lure individual guards and eliminate them.
Go inside the mansion. When you reach the red force field blocking the passage, activate Nix's senses, which will highlight electrical wires. If you follow their trail, you will find a small room where you can deactivate the barrier.
As you walk through the corridors, be careful not to enter the cameras' field of view.
In the large room with the stairs you can order Nix to sabotage the alarms.
The switch for the field blocking the turbolift entrance is located in the left wing of the building (next to the bar counter). This location is patrolled by guards, so be careful.
After taking the elevator to the vault level, you will need to deactivate another force field. Go through the open corridor to the left. A system of interconnected rooms will eventually lead you to the control room, where you will perform your first computer hacking. Familiarize yourself with the tips provided by the game.
Hacking the system will deactivate the security and allow you to enter the vault. A long section of cut-scenes will play. A long section of cut-scenes will play. Your new task will be to escape from the planet Cantonica.
Escaping from the planet Cantonica
Escape through the only open rooms, fighting waves of guards along the way.
In one of the rooms you will come across a ventilation shaft. Go inside. As you go through the ventilation system, you will have to destroy the power section of the spinning fans in order to proceed safely.
The ventilation shafts will eventually lead you to the hangar. There are a lot of guards here, but once again you can use Nix's help. The exploding red barrels in the hangar can be activated by the pet.
Run aboard the ship. After a brief escape sequence, Kay will leave her home planet and the game's opening mission will end.
