The experts system implemented in Star Wars Outlaws is an alternative to the classic leveling and character development system. It's based on the skills Kay learns from the NPCs she meets. On this guide page, we describe the basic assumptions related to experts system.

Who are the experts?
During her adventures in a galaxy far, far away, Kay Vess will cross paths with the so-called Experts. These are NPCs that are important from the perspective of the plot and mechanics, specializing in a particular set of skills. By interacting with them and completing missions for them, Kay will be able to learn the secrets of their craft, which will unlock the ability for players to perform specific actions.
From the promotional materials currently available, we can read that Star Wars Outlaws will feature skills and improvements in such aspects as:
- opening locks;
- increasing the speed of the speeder;
- hand-to-hand combat;
- distracting opponents;
- quick execution of several enemies with a blaster.
