In the False Flag mission, your task will be to infiltrate a space base of the Galactic Empire. To do this, you will first need to take to the skies with your freshly repaired ship. On this guide page we will tell you how to beat this mission full of space fights and stealth.
- Taking the cargo
- How to find the data vault?
- Which faction to frame?
- How to escape from the Empire station?
- Return to Toshara
Taking the cargo
You will start the False Flag mission right after completing the previous one - New Tricks. Go to Mechanic Waka, who will be waiting for you next to the Trailblazer. Hand him the necessary parts, then sit in the captain's seat in the cockpit.
Once you're in space, follow the yellow mission marker. Instructions on how to fly the ship are displayed on-screen. At the end of the path you will find a wreck of a crashed transport ship. Shoot it to detach the container from the rest of the ship.
After a while you will be attacked by pirates. Eliminate them. Remember about the ability to lock on the enemy ship - it makes aiming much easier.
Once the pirates are defeated, approach the floating cargo and collect it. Then head towards the new mission marker, which will take you to a space station belonging to the Galactic Empire.
How to find the data vault?
Once you land, leave the ship. The stealth section that awaits you is quite difficult.
We recommend the path leading directly forward around the scattered boxes and then towards the marker in a slightly more open area.
This path is swarming with enemies , so use all the tricks in Kay's arsenal, such as:
- stun blaster beam;
- Nix distractions;
- attacking together with Nix;
- whistling.
Even though the mission log clearly states that you cannot be detected, you still have a chance to save your skin if you are found, provided you manage to neutralize the enemy raising the alarm or have previously sabotaged the alarm systems.
Go through the open hangar and then enter the ventilation shaft. In the new room, the turbolift will take you to the upper floor (it activates automatically when you stand on it).
Wait until two officers leave the corridor. Then defeat the rest of the Imperial soldiers in the room and read the information on the computer.
Follow the mission marker through subsequent corridors and rooms. Some of them branch off into alternative paths, so feel free to experiment with the path that is most optimal for you.
Remember that Nix can distract not only live enemies, but also cameras.
When you reach the large hangar where the TIE Fighters are serviced, you'll notice that the data vault is on the other side of the room. To get to it, we definitely recommend you use the upper path, along the balcony.
You'll only encounter two guards (a droid and a stormtrooper) on this route, and the platforming sections are fairly easy.
Which faction to frame?
Go to the computer room. After activating one of them, you will meet Bosnok - a head in a jar. He will agree to help you in exchange for taking him with you. But before that happens, you must decide which crime syndicate you want to frame.
We wrote more about this decision on a separate page of our guide. For this playthrough, we decided to frame Scarlet Dawn to further increase reputation with the Pykes.
How to escape from the Empire station?
To help Bosnok escape, activate the cart in the center of the hangar. If you wait until the stormtrooper patrols pass you by, you may be able to do this without bigger problems.
In the next sequence, your task will be to accompany Bosnok on a moving cart and open subsequent doors and barriers for him.
When you get to a wide corridor, a fight will start. Use the exploding barrels on the other side of the room to defeat the stormtroopers. You can deactivate the energy barrier protecting the entrance to the ventilation shaft by shooting the power section on the opposite wall.
In the room directly above the hangar where the Trailblazer is located, hack into the computer and deactivate the security systems.
In the final sequence on the station, your mission is to fight Imperial soldiers until Waka is ready to take off.
Return to Toshara
In space, head towards the mission marker. Before you can override the Empire's communications system, however, you'll need to defeat the TIE Fighters pursuing you.
After defeating the enemies, approach the Empire's antenna and hold the appropriate button. This action will remove the wanted status.
Return to the surface of Toshara. To complete the quest, go to Gorak and report the mission to him.
