Can you pet Nix in Star Wars Outlaws? In our guide you will learn about friendly interactions with the main character's companion and other domesticated animals. Additionally, we provide information on how to give Nix commands and what you can get from it.
How to pet Nix?
As a reminder, Nix is the protagonist's adorable animal companion. He follows Kay from the very beginning of the game and is controlled by artificial intelligence. Unfortunately, you cannot control Nix personally.
- You can pet Nix anytime except for situations in which, for example, you are in combat.
- You have to hold L1/LB, turn the camera towards your companion and when the petting option appears, press R3 (right analog stick).
How to give commands to Nix?
Nix's job isn't just to look cute in cut-scenes, but the pet can also be an actual help during the game.
All Nix-related interactions are activated by holding L1/LB to activate Nix mode. You can then look at the place where you want the pet to perform an action. You can confirm it by pressing X/A on the controller. Nix can:
- Rob, attack or distract enemies - This last option is very helpful in avoiding or surprising enemies.
- Bring items - You have to show Nix some object and apart from loot it can be, for example, a new weapon.
- Interact with the environment - Nix can, among other things, open gates, press buttons, and lower ladders. This will help you in solving various puzzles.
Can you pet other animals?
- Nix is not the only pet you can pet in the game. The game world is also inhabited by other friendly creatures. You can pet them by approaching them and pressing R3.
- Note - There are also various predators in the game. In this case, not only will there be no option to pet them, but it may be necessary to fight them.
