Ion Smoke Bomb skill - The Scavenger

1. Unlock the Scavenger expert first - Temmin of Akiva, whom you will meet while completing the main quests on this planet.
2. One of the skills associated with Temmin is the Ion Smoke Bomb - this is a more powerful version of the standard bomb that can temporarily disable droids and devices.
3. You need to gather 3 ingredients - 2 of them are common, but the Flux Compressor is a rare material that can only be found in a specific location in the game.

Reaching the Rover's Lair (Akiva)

1. Your destination is the Rover's Lair on planet Akiva - a hideout located west of Research Station 57 in the northern part of the map.

1. You have to reach Rover's Lair by the water, i.e. from the east (The Great Basin lake). This requires a speeder upgrade from Temmin thanks to which you will be able to go through deep water - a topic that is discussed in more detail on the How to travel on water? FAQ page.
2. Find a place where you can stop on a small bank and get off the speeder. Find the climbing wall shown in the picture. Later during the climb, use the grappling hook to climb to a higher rock ledge.

Flux Compressor puzzle

Eventually you will reach a closed door with 4 cables extending from it (you can track them by activating Nix's sense - they will be blue).

1. Start by revealing the 4 nearby generators. Once again you need to use the Bolt module to blast large boulders and destroy the weakened right wall.

1. You have to quickly shoot ion missiles at the generators - shoot (counting from the left) fourth, second, first and, lastly, third.
2. If you performed the sequence correctly and activated the generators quickly, 4 green lights will light up above the door (by default they are all red). Otherwise, try shooting ion bolts again.

1. You can now go inside and examine the large chest. It contains the Flux Compressor.
2. Return to the skills menu. You can build the Ion Smoke Bomb now, or you will need to obtain the remaining common ingredients first (as loot or purchased from traders).
