Mount - how to override it?
In order to override a mount in Horizon Forbidden West, you need to sneak up on it unnoticed and then press and hold triangle. Once the process is complete, you will be able to hop on the back of the machine and start controlling it.
You can summon a previously overridden mount at any time using the function marked in the screenshot above. Just remember that mounts cannot enter settlements, nor can they be summoned there.
Every mount in the game Horizon Forbidden West can be repaired by simply walking up to the machine and pressing square. You will need to pay in Metal Shards for the repairs. If a mount falls in battle, you will have a limited amount of time to revive it.
All mounts available in the game Horizon Forbidden West:

Overridden machines - can they help Aloy in combat?
Some machines in Horizon Forbidden West can only be overridden in order to aid your character in combat. You need to override them in the same way that you would a mount. A distinctive icon will appear above the overridden opponent, and the machine will begin to attack at random - you will not be able to control it.
