This page of the Horizon Forbidden West game guide contains all of the Salvage Contractor's salvage contracts in Barren Light. We explain where to find Larend and how to complete his contracts.

After the conversation with Keruf, the salvage contractor in Barren Light, head to his camp west of the settlement. Larend will offer you 4 scrap contracts.

• Convoy Ambush
• Scavengers
• Alarm Antennas
• Elusive Fanghorn

Convoy Ambush

Contract rewards:

1. XP: 2000
2. Metal shards: 40
3. Coil: Shock +7%

Your first contract from Larend will consist of ambushing a convoy. You can complete this task by killing a Shell-Walker and collecting the necessary materials from it.

Go to the indicated location, open the chest by the fire and take out the traps and other useful items.

Set up to 2 traps of any kind on the road the convoy will be passing and then rest on the bed by the fire.

Along with 2 burrowers, a Shell-Walker will appear. Use environmental traps to inflict as much damage to the machine as possible. When you shoot with your bow at the elements highlighted in yellow, a pile of stones will slide onto the road.

The Shell-Walker is a slow machine that launches shock projectiles from time to time. As soon as you spot the blue rays coming out of the machine, hide behind objects nearby to avoid getting hit. Every now and then, the Shell-Walker will protect itself with a shield. When this happens, try to attack it from behind. This machine is particularly susceptible to acid damage.

After killing the machine, collect materials from it and return to Larend.

Scavengers

Contract rewards:

3. Apex Widemaw Heart

Head to the Chargers habitat. After killing a few Chargers, a different type of machines will appear. Eliminate all the Scrappers, then grab their materials and return to Larend.

Alarm Antennas

Contract rewards:

1. XP: 2000
2. Metal shards: 40
3. Coil: Fire +7%

Go to the indicated location in the machine habitat. While hiding in the grass, turn on focus mode, mark the antennas on the bodies of the Scroungers and then shoot these parts down. If you fail to detach 3 antennas, you will receive a notification informing you about the machines' new location.

Collect 3 antennas and return to Larend.

Elusive Fanghorn

Contract rewards:

1. XP: 2500
2. Skill Points: 2
3. Impact Spike Thrower
4. Metal shards: 60

Go to the indicated location and start up focus mode. Investigate all the areas highlighted in pink to find Fanghorn tracks. Then highlight the tracks you found (by pressing R1) and follow them to the machine's habitat.

When you reach the machines, the Fanghorn and its pack will start running away. You'll find some Chargers nearby, so mount one of them and catch up to the marked Fanghorn. Knock the machine down by shooting exactly at its weak point and then finish it off.

Collect the materials from the defeated machine and return to Larend for your rewards.
