The Sims 4 Cats & Dogs: Pet Training - how to train? Sims 4 Guide, tips
Last update: 07 April 2022
Pet Training allows you to give commands to your pet. With each new level in Pet Training skill you get access to new tricks - higher levels unlock the option to show off with your pet in front of your Sim friends.
This page is divided into two parts:
How to train pets?
Training a pet is very simple - press the left mouse button on your animal, select "More Choices..." and then "Training". Now, depending on your Pet Training skill, you choose from a few options - shake, roll over, lie down etc. After that your Sim will start training their pet and leveling that skill. When your pet learns that trick you can then order the animal to perform it whenever you want.
Your pet can also be trained on an obstacle training course - you can build it yourself or you can visit a Dog Park. This won't unlock any new tricks but it allows you to see how your pet deals with various obstacles. Your pet will make many mistakes in their first few attempts. However, over time, it will get better. Also, your Sim become more happy and proud of their pet. Complete a course and receive an information about completion time and number of mistakes. Finishing a course together with your pet will strengthen your bonds.
