Fire
A very dangerous thing may be a cook-Sim who may cause fire.
Already at the stage of decorating the kitchen, buy two things: a smoke alarm, which you should place above the oven and a Fire System Control Panel.
When the fire breaks out, if you do not want to risk your Sim dying, and the house has been fitted with proper systems, walk away from fire in the first place. The risk of catching on fire (use the option to "put out" then) and dying, is low. It is a good idea to try to put out the fire on your own, to prevent it from spreading, which would cause further damage.
A moment after the alarm goes off, a water sprinkler appears above the site of the fire, which extinguishes the fire. For the destroyed furniture, you will receive some damages, from your insurance, but it is not enough to cover all the losses. To replace the burned appliances, you simply need to click them and select "Replace", and for a payment you will receive some new ones. The Sim that caught on fire which was put out, will be covered in soot so, you need to give him a bath and a change of clothes.
Paying bills
Every week, you will be receiving bills for the house's upkeep, to your mailbox. The amount to pay depends, of course, on the size of the house and the appliances. You can pay the bills in three ways: by clicking the mailbox, by clicking the phone and selecting "Pay the bills", or by clicking the computer and selecting " Pay the bills ".
Do not neglect this. If you do not pay within 48 hours, power supply will be cut off - you will not be able to use the computer, TV and many others. If you do not pay within the next 48 hours, water will be cut out also: you will be unable to take bath, to wash the dishes, etc. Therefore, paying the bills is a sad necessity.
