Aside from the usual Dungeons, Lost Ark also features Secret Dungeons. Below you will learn what you can find in them, how to find the entrance and how to complete them.
What are Secret Dungeons?
Secret Dungeons are an interesting extra feature. The map is a key to open the entrance to the secret dungeon - without it, you won't get inside. You can enter the secret dungeons as a Party so that everyone can take gain something from it. Inside the secret dungeon you will find a small area with one weak boss. Defeating him will give you some items and treasures. They are random and usually not very valuable. Their level depends on the level of the map, which you can view by hovering the mouse over it in the inventory (Item Lv. X). Ideally, it should be close to or higher than yours. If it isn't,think about replacing it (read below).
Opening the map in the inventory will bring up the mini-map. The name of the area on the continent shown on the map is displayed in the upper left corner of the window. The map itself shows a section of the map in a particular area that you must find.
- You can leave the map window open and move it to the corner of the screen to compare with the world map.
- It's a good idea to leave the window open when approaching the designated area - when you're near, you'll see how far you got left in the bottom part of the treasure map window.
- To enter the dungeon, press the interaction button (G) that you will see after standing at the indicated location.
- Maps cannot be sold, they can only be exchanged for other maps.
Where to get the maps?
If you focus on the side quests in Rethremis, you will find quite a few maps. They aren't that common, though (sometimes you'll get them as rewards for main or side quests), or you can randomly obtain them through:
- Rewards from bosses (like Rudric),
- For completing Dungeons,
- Rewards dropped by defeated enemies.
How to exchange maps?
If you are not interested in a particular map (or a few of them) - because of the location or level - you can exchange them at Maria's in Luterra Castle (West Luterra).
On the left side of town, inside the Termia Library, you will find Maria, who will exchange your map for another for a fee. The chance of trading the map for a better one is random.

See maps
Sometimes you will get sea maps(Secret Map on yellow background). These lead to points on the seas where there are viewpoint. At a given location, look for a yellow object resembling a telescope. Once found, they are permanently saved to the map.
These points are Sea Bounties - a type of secret that you get for finding the right amount of points. You can view the rewards in the Collectibles tab (Alt L).
Buying maps
You will find Rift Piece Exchanger in most major cities. They sell chest that contain random Secret Map. To get them, you have to spend Rift Pieces that you earn for participating in Chaos Gate events that take place according to the calendar. You can draw a map with different "levels" from each chest. If the map has a lower equipment level than your current one, it is worth ignoring it and storing it to exchange it later at the Map Exchange. There you have the chance to trade a few worst maps for one that may better suits your current level.
