On this page of the of Lost Ark guide (version from 2022) we have described one character of the Warrior class - Berserker.
Last update: 22 March 2022
This page of the guide covers the features and skills of the Warrior, specifically the Berserker Advanced Class. This page lists Berserker's skills and engravings using terminology and builds relevant in 2022. We have also described two builds: Mayhem and Technique Berserker.
Berserker Class Description
Gender: Male
Combat style: Melee
Specialization: fill up his Fury Meter during combat to activate Burst Mode to make him much more mobile and make his attacks hit harder. You have to wait 30 seconds for a cooldown. In Burst Mode, he can use a special attack - Bloody Rush.
The Berserker is a balanced fighter with great offense and solid defense. This, however, comes at the expense of his dexterity and speed. He's quite slow, with many of his attacks having long recharge times. Berserker's attacks are short-range and often have no additional effects. Still, he's one of the most damaging classes in the game and can also serve as a tank. It's a pretty easy class for beginners.
It's often chosen by those who intend to play solo. All-in-all, a well-balanced fighter.
This character often acts as a DPS with the right build but doesn't have any buffs for team play. The right build increases his speed and strength, making him suitable for PvE and PVP.
Mayhem/Madness build
Mayhem/Madness is one of the most popular builds for Berserker in Lost Ark. It is "extreme", focused on increasing damage and speed at the expense of health. The engraving used for this build with the same name is characterized by:
- Constantly filled Fury Meter,
- Max health is reduced to 25% (and max 25% from protection spells), but damage taken is decreased by 65% when Burst Mode is active,
- You can turn off Burst Mode to regain a quarter of your health, but you can't use it for another 30 seconds.
Engravings:
- Mayhem - crucial to the build - increased damage/speed at the expense of health/protection.
- Master's Tenacity - increases damage dealt when health below 50% - fits perfectly with Mayhem, as the health is reduced by the new Burst Mode.
Optional engravings:
- Cursed Doll - increased damage at the expense of healing - not relevant when using green HP Potions,
- Keen Blunt Weapon - Critical damage increased at the expense of normal damage (high Crit stats required),
- Grudge - increased damage (against bosses) but also the damage taken,
- Raid Captain- if you have a high Switness stat, the character damage will be increased.
Comat stats:
- Crit - increases the chance to deal critical damage; especially important when dealing multiple damages (55% of available points),
- Swiftness - increases attack speed, movement speed, speeds up the skills cooldowns. Crucial for this build(45% of available points).
- The other option is to even out the stats closer to 50/50, or even higher Swiftness if you don't want to rely mostly on critical strikes (since Mayhem lowers your critical damage chance).
Skills, tripods, and runes:
Skill | 1st Tripod | 2nd Tripod | 3rd Tripod | Rune |
Finish Strike (10 ) | Tenacity | Weak Point Detection | Lights Out | Galewind |
Shoulder Charge (4) | Excellent Mobility | Quick Recharge
Tempest Slash (4 ) | Quick Prep | Weak Point Detection | Driving Hit | Overwhelm |
Hell Blade (10 ) | Leap | Deadly Blow | Earth Flip | Galewind |
Chain Sword (4 ) | Vital Point Hit | Swift Attack Prep | Quick Prep | Galewind |
Strike Wave (10) | Wave | Limit Break | Earth Flip | Galewind |
Red Dust (10) | Quick Prep | Vital Point Hit | Red Wave | Bleed |
Sword Storm (10) | Quick Prep | Weak Point Detection | Flame Storm | Overwhelm |
Berserk Fury (Awakening skill) |
The numbers in parentheses are the skill level we suggest you to have at character level 50. means you should develop it further, - means you should prioritize developing it.
Playstyle:
The Berserker in this form has very little health - so it's important to avoid being cornered, monitor health, and dodge the hits. To do this, you can use Shoulder Charge, which is an additional dodge option. It's worth noting that the only potions you need now are the ones restoring 30% health - which, for Berserker Mayhem, replenish heath to his maximum level.
Technique Berserker build
Technique Berserker is a simpler build compared to Mayhem. It still focuses on getting the best out of Burst Mode while keeping its standard form. Thanks to this:
- He has a high amount of Health,
- He has a high chance of critical damage.
Depending on your approach, you can increase the critical damage chance with stats or focus on Specialization to improve the stats and duration of Burst Mode.
Engravings:
- Berserker's Technique - increases Critical damage, but more importantly, you don't get Exhaustion status after Burst Mode ends and can fill Fury Meter immediately. First-level engraving is sufficient.
- Master of Ambush - increases damage dealt with back attacks. This is important when fighting bosses. Optional: Grudge - if you don't want to rely on back attacks.
Optional engravings:
- Awakening - crucial for a simple reason: it reduces the cooldown of the Awakening Skill, which leads to a faster filling of the meter.
- Keen Blunt Weapon - if you put a lot of points into Crit, you get increased critical damage by 10% at the expense of normal damage (-20%).
- Raid Captain Spirit Absorption - increases damage based on the character speed, and Spirit Absorption increases speed. Worth using if you have a lot of Swiftness points.
Comat stats:
- Crit - chance to execute a critical hit. Assign around 25% of the points here - You get 30% with the activation of Burst Mode.
- Specialization - 75% of the points - responsible for the "quality" of Burst Mode: filling the meter, duration, and improves the stats of Awakening and Bloody Rush skills.
Skills, tripods, and runes:
Skill | 1st Tripod | 2nd Tripod | 3rd Tripod | Rune |
Finish Strike (10 ) | Tenacity | Weak Point Detection | Lights Out | Galewind |
Shoulder Charge (4) | Excellent Mobility | Quick Recharge
Tempest Slash (4 ) | Focus | Weak Point Detection | Driving Hit | Wealth |
Hell Blade (10 ) | Leap | Melt | Earth Flip | Galewind |
Chain Sword (4 ) | Nimble Movement | Swift Attack Prep | Quick Prep | Galewind |
Wind Blade (10) | Quick Prep | Focus | Windshift | Wealth |
Red Dust (10) | Quick Prep | Vital Point Hit | Red Wave | Galewind |
Strike Wave (10 ) | Wave | Limit Break | Earth Flip | Bleed |
Chain of Vengeance (Awakening skill) |
Playstyle:
During boss fights, Technique Berserker should be placed in the back of the enemy to perform Back Attacks. The proper use of skills that have Stagger will block attacks aimed at you or your allies. Also, keep a close eye on your surroundings - when Burst Mode ends, the build loses its strengths. Don't let it happen when you are in a tight spot.
