This page of the guide to Lost Ark explains the Guilds mechanic. You'll learn how to join a guild, give Donations, participate in Research, as well as how to earn and spend Sylmael Bloodstones.
Joining a guild
Lost Ark's Guilds system is quite extensive. Joining a guild doesn't come with any direct responsibilities but provides considerable benefits, so you should try and join one as soon as possible. You do so by opening the guild window (Alt U) and searching - by name/description or from a list - for the guild of your choice. You'll also often find guilds looking for members in the chat. Some guilds have ilvl requirements to ensure all members are on a similar power level.
Guilds have their own chat tab by default - to send a message to your guild members select the green Guild option in the chat or add the /g prefix to your message.
Benefits / activities
Joining a guild and helping it develop will provide you with numerous benefits:
- Currency - Sylmael Bloodstones (described below),
- Party - You'll be easily able to find party members for activities such as the Abyssal Dungeon which require integration between players,
- Additional activities such as Guild vs Guild and Guild vs Environment.
Donations
You can support your guild with daily donations. This develops the guild, provides it with funds and raises its level - you'll be rewarded with a higher guild level and Sylmael Bloodstones - a special currency used to purchase e.g. Honing materials. The guild and its members need to be high-level to participate in further activities (such as guild battles). Guild progress resets on Thursdays at 7am.
Sylmael Bloodstones
Guild members receive Sylmael Bloodstones by donating funds. These are special stones which can be traded - look for a gray icon signed as Sylmael Bloodstones Exchange - for example, in Luterra Castle it can be found inside the castle to the left.
You can exchange Bloodstones for silver (don't do this), combat experience (character level 50 ), Gear Honing materials - you'll most likely spend most your Bloodstones on this - including Star Breath (found in the last tab) which increases your Honing chance, as well as entry tickets for events such as Cube or Hall of Silence / Sun.
Guild Honor Banners, which significantly increase your contribution to the guild, can be rarely found in the in-game store for crystals - they can't be obtained via regular gameplay.
Research
Guild-conducted research influences its development and unlocks new content. Every day you can support one of the ongoing research projects of your choice. It's completely free, grants Contribution and Sylmael Bloodstones.
Weekly tasks
These are the tasks the guild offers to its members. They can be attempted multiple times, increase your Contribution (granting more crystals at the end of the week) and increase guild experience. They can be attempted multiple times throughout the week or even the day and are often associated with other activities, so completing them is worth the effort.
