Alaric's Sanctuary is the third Tier 2 Gate of Paradise Abyssal Dungeon in Lost Ark. On this page you will learn the boss fights mechanics and how to complete this dungeon. To enter the dungeon, you need 960 ilvl.
First boss
As before, you begin by eliminating the smaller monsters that stand in your way playing as two teams, 4 players each. In the first fight, the teams are divided and each team gets a different boss to defeat.
The first boss is either a Shark or a Siren, depending on the team. They both have similar mechanics. You will fight the boss in a team of four. The boss specializes in "yellow" attacks, which take away most of your oxygen and focus less on dealing physical damage.
There is one critical mechanic, Fatal Melody, when a boss has 15 health bars left. Before the attack starts, you will get a notification on this twice at the bottom of the screen. Black orbs and one golden orb will then appear in the arena.
Whoever destroys the golden one will get a gold round field that will now follow them. The field is a safe zone, which other players must use to protect themselves from the wipe attack mechanics. The marked player should not move and should summon other players. Interacting with the black orbs will limit your and your allies' vision. If the players will inform one another of the safe zone location, look for a marker on the mini-map. In the final stage of the fight, the teams will be merged and the same mechanics will take place in a shared arena.
Now though, players can get infected. To remove the debuff, stand on the purple field that appears near the boss.
Second boss: Alaric
The second boss is not a difficult one. Players are thrown into a round arena where they must destroy 4 pillars while also attacking the boss. One player will receive a small circle around the character when activating the mechanic, while the rest will receive a larger circle. The boss will attack the player with the smaller circle so they should position themselves in front of the pillar. It is possible to dodge an attack at the last minute, but many players "sacrifice" themselves (the attack is not drastically strong) to make sure the boss does destroy one of the pillars.
Destroy all 4 pillars using the same tactics. At the same time, the other players have to be wary of each other's markings because anyone who comes within another player's circle will take damage (and the circles can touch and overlap).
Alaric - second encounter
The third boss fight is a tough one and the main mechanics (the wipe included) requires proper positioning. The right positions are usually chosen by the players after the first lost fight (or you can restart the arena right away and set the positions before entering the arena again).
The boss uses numerous area attacks. It can also petrify you. If anyone gets petrified, attack that player in order to free them. This is very important, because if players remain petrified for too long, they may eventually run into one of the key mechanics without being able to support anyone or defend themselves against it.
The first mechanic occurs when the boss has 28 and 12 health bars respectively. It involves destroying the golden orbs while ignoring the blue ones. Larger golden orbs with a rim can only be destroyed by using the High Stagger skill. However, you can also stop them by using skills allowing you to slow them down, paralyze them, etc. You can also try grenades, such as Sleep Bomb. First, though, before you can start destroying the orbs, you must interrupt the boss charging their attack by performing Stagger attacks until the orange bar at their feet disappears. Otherwise, a wipe will occur.
The main mechanic, which occurs every 90 seconds or so, requires you to line up in the indicated golden fields in the arena (one person per one field) to avoid the wipe. Hence, before starting the game, it is necessary to choose the position the player will take once this mechanics starts. The zones are shifted slightly each time, but in the arena the players will appear as upward-facing arrows (as in the screenshot above), with two people per one of the four directions.
