What are cards and how to obtain them?
The cards are collectibles in Lost Ark. You can find them during many gameplay activities and story quests. Add the acquired cards to your inventory by clicking on them with PPM.
- Cards are valuable, and collecting them is a very endgame activity (it's almost impossible to get them all).
- Card sets passively improve the stats of your heroes.
- The same cards (duplicates) don't count towards the full collection - they do not take up extra space.
- Cards cannot be traded on the market.
- Removing cards from the deck destroys them irrevocably.

Creating sets
When you open the card tab (Alt C), you will see the cards collected into sets on the left. Hover over Set Effects Details to see what bonuses you can get by applying the indicated number of cards. There are 6 card slots available for you to choose from. More than one set can be active at the same time - this way, you can create and use, for example, two sets of 3 cards each. You can build several sets and use them depending on the situation.
Awakening
The base is to collect a set for a specific effect. Later on, you should aim to get duplicate cards so that you can upgrade them. In the set information you will see the buffs related to card awakening (they will be in grey). Each card can be awakened 5 times, with duplicate cards always required, so it's a good idea to choose cards that can be easily obtained (e.g. ones offered in stores or that you can get at certain events).
To enhance cards, go to the Enhance tab. Here, after selecting the card with PPM, you can prepare it for upgrading by transferring XP (current level visible at the top of the screen); you also have to pay the indicated amount of silver. Thus' don't upgrade cards that you won't use. In addition - as mentioned before - when you level up, you will also need duplicates of the given card - at first one, then several.
Books - upgrading attributes
Even if you don't consider cards to be an important part of the game, it's worth mentioning that in aside from sets, cards are also combined into books. By checking the appropriate tab you will find out which passive bonuses are given by the set of specific cards. The bonuses are valid until you decide(which we don't recommend) to remove the cards from the catalog. Additionally, upgrading the cards will also improve the attributes generated by the books.
Expanding the catalog
Over time, you will encounter the problem that when you try to add another card to your collection, you will get the message "Card Catalog is Full".
By going to the Enhance tab and going down to the bottom of the page, you can buy (for blue crystals - indirectly for gold), another row, thus unlocking 10 slots for new cards. You'll have to buy many such slots along with your progress, though. If you don't want to do this, you can temporarily store the cards in your storage or inventory.
