On this page of the Lost Ark guide, you will learn what Chaos Gates are and how to take part in this Procyon's Compass event.
What is Chaos Gate?
Chaos Gate are special challenges available according to the calendar (check Procyon's Compass to find out if a challenge is available on a given day and if you can participate because you are allowed to take part in it only once a day. You can use any items in these challenges. Chaos Gate features:
- Time - you must complete the challenges within the specified time provided in the upper left corner of the screen;
- Player limit - first come, first served - Chaos Gate has a limit of 30 players per level. Any players above the limit will not be able to join. You can try other channels, though.
- If there aren't enough of you, you won't be able to get through the dungeons. You won't get the rewards and you won't be able to reenter the Chaos Gate.
- You don't need to use instant resurrection (Phoenix Plume). The resurrection at the beginning of the dungeons is free and there's also a portal right at the entrance which will lead you to the last boss fight area.
Note that entering Chaos Gate means that your daily limit will be used up immediately. If you fail, be it due to lack of time or server issues, you will not be able to try again on that day.
Information about the dungeons can be accessed in the main and side calendar for the day. When you select the compass needle icon, you will learn their locations. At a given location, exactly at the start time, a portal will open for about 3 minutes and you must go through it in order to participate in the event. The events in the calendar have different names: Twisting Chaos Legion, Twisting Phantom, but they are generally the same event (but with different item levels required to participate).
Chaos Gate rewards
Standard Chaos Gate rewards include:
- Rift Pieces - earned during boss fights. They can be exchanged for treasure maps in the city, at the merchant's (Rift Pieces Exchange);
- Treasure Map - at the end of the dungeon, you've got a change of obtaining a treasure map, but it will often be a low level one;
- Cards;
- Rage Rune - it's the same rune on every level of Chaos Gate, reserved for the particular event. Later, however, it will vary in rarity and power.
There are also other rewards to be obtained.
Auctions - additional rewards
At the end of the game, auctions are held. Here you have a chance to get a Secret Map - a rare map with a specific Tier. However, they won't always be worth a fortune.
In addition: the gold achieved at the end of the auction is divided equally among the participants of the event. That's why participating in Chaos Gate with a lot of people might be a way for you to increase your budget. Be careful, though - there is a Roll button available during the auction which you can use to enter your own amount and raise the bidding amount significantly. Many players try to raise the amount significantly so that others will accidentally outbid them.
