Weeds can be a serious problem in Farming Simulator 25, costing you a significant percentage of your crops if you let them grow. However, there are quite simple ways to get rid of them. On this guide page you will learn when to remove weeds and what machine to use.

When to remove weeds?

Weeds will grow in your fields unless you first plow the land with a plower. If you allow weeds to get too big they will drastically reduce your crop yield so getting rid of them as early as possible is crucial. Weeds appear quickly and grow just as fast, and their removal becomes more difficult the larger they are. There are three types of machines in the game capable of removing weeds - weeders and herbicide sprayers.

How to remove weeds?

The proper method for removing weeds depends on their size. Weeds are small at first, and the longer you delay their removal, the bigger they grow. Pay attention to the descriptions of the machines in the store - they will let you know what weeds they can remove. A window appearing in the corner of the screen after entering the field will let you know about the presence of weeds, and what tool you need to get rid of them.

  1. Weeders only remove small weeds. Their use is the cheapest and simplest, as they pull out weeds from the ground. It is therefore worth buying in a weeder and getting into the habit of using it as soon as weeds appear, before the problem gets worse.
  2. Hoes remove both medium and small weeds. Just like weeders, they can pull weeds out of the ground. They are another machine that is worth buying.
  3. Herbicide sprayers remove large, medium and small weeds. However, it is also the worst, most expensive and most problematic option. Sprayers are very expensive, you have to buy herbicide for them, and spraying fields may kill weeds, but it also has a negative impact on crops (although not as negative as leaving the weeds). Since you will only use sprayers when the problem gets too big, consider leasing it when needed rather than purchasing it.
