Farming Simulator 25: How to make hay?
If you want to become an animal farmer, you need to invest in grass and hay. From this page of the Farming Simulator 25 guide you will learn how to obtain the latter raw material.
Last update:
Hay is one of the basic components of animal nutrition. On this page of the guide, you will learn how to make hay in Farming Simulator 25, where to use it and how to store it.
Use of hay
Hay is used in animal feed. You can feed it to cows, horses, goats and sheep. It usually offers similar efficiency to regular grass, so in theory, you don't always need hay. In fact, it is most profitable to produce it when you are preparing TMR feed for cows (more on this can be found on the page dedicated to cows in our guide).
Of course, the surplus can be sold to, for example, an animal dealer. However, this is not something that will bring you a lot of money.
How to get hay?
Harvesting hay is very simple - just use a tedder on mowed grass (we explain how to grow grass on a separate page of the guide). Immediately after this activity, the hay will be ready. Unfortunately, collecting it is difficult, as it's scattered all over the field. This is why it's recommended to use a windrower, which will tidy it up for you and only then collect the hay with a forage wagon or a baler.
Storage
You can keep hay pretty much anywhere you like. If you care about organization, you can always store it in a special building called the Hay Loft. You will find it in the Silos tab in the building mode.
