Lime spreading is a process that helps maintain a proper soil acidity. In Farming Simulator 25 you will do it regularly, so it is recommended how to prepare for it. On this page of the guide we explain all the intricacies related to spreading lime on fields.
What are the benefits of lime spreading?
Lime spreading involves covering the field with a thin layer of lime. Although seemingly similar, this activity is not the same as fertilizing. Lime spreading ensures the proper acidity of the soil, which translates into better harvests. Spreading lime is a cyclical process, performed approximately every third harvest.
When you enter a selected field, a table with detailed information about it will appear in the lower left corner of the screen. There you will also find a warning about the necessity to sprinkle the area with lime.
If you do not neglect liming, your harvests will increase by 15%. This process does not take much time and is not too costly, so try not to forget about it.
How to perform lime spreading?
To perform lime spreading, you will need a spreader. However, you cannot just use any fertilizer spreader. A spreader adapted for lime spreading can be recognized by a special limestone rock icon in the store. Bredal K105 is an example of a compatible machine.
Lime can be purchased in the store, in the Yield Increase category under the Consumables tab. The bag will be delivered to the parking lot by the store. To fill the spreader, drive up to the bag and press the fill button (R on the keyboard).
Special lime stations are an alternative place to purchase lime (they're marked with a blue icon on the map). Approach the silo with the spreader and then press the filling button.
Go to the field and activate the spreader (B on the keyboard). Scattered lime will leave a delicate, white residue on the ground. This work is done quite quickly and the spreader covers a wide strip of land, so covering the entire field shouldn't take you too long.
