Farming Simulator 25: How to grow sugarcane?
Sugarcane is one of the two ways to get sugar in Farming Simulator 25. On this page of the guide we have described how to grow cane and what machinery you need to grow the crop.

Sugarcane is one of the more unusual plants in Farming Simulator 25. Growing it is one of the ways you can produce sugar. This plant requires expensive, dedicated equipment. On this page of the guide we have described how to grow sugarcane and what machines you will need for it.
What do you need to grow sugarcane?
The devices required for or useful when growing sugarcane are the following:
- Medium/heavy tractor - sugarcane requires quite heavy machinery, so make sure your tractor has enough power to handle it. If you are using a light tractor, it may be necessary to load it before you get it to work.
- Subsoiler - sugarcane is a unique plant that grows back after it is harvested. This means that plowing only needs to be done once before you first sow the plant. The best tool for that will be a subsoiler, although a plow will also do. If you have activated periodic plow, you will have to plow every third harvest to ensure soil fertility.
- Stone pickers (optional) - after plowing with a subsoiler, large stones will appear on the field. Getting rid of them will prevent damage to vehicles going forward. The stones will be too big for the rollers, so use the picker to pick them up, then sell them at the point with the stone crusher.
- Spreader and lime (optional) - every third harvest or so you should do lime spreading, which will give you a big bonus to your harvest. Equip yourself with a lime-compatible spreader (limestone icon in the store) and the lime itself.
- Fertilizer device and solid fertilizer (optional) - to maximize yields you need to fertilize a field twice. Each solid fertilizer requires a different machine. If you use slurry or manure, you can do double fertilization - this way you will not have to repeat the process later, between fertilization and harvest.
- Sugarcane planter and sugarcane - planting sugar cane requires a dedicated, special planter attached to a tractor. Instead of using seeds, you plant the sugarcane itself - this means that after successful harvest, instead of buying seeds, you can set aside some of the harvest and plant it again in another field or the same field after periodic plowing. Sugarcane can be purchased at the store.
- Weeder, hoe or sprayer (optional) - after plowing with a subsoiler, weeds will start to grow in the field. Get rid of them as soon as possible, preferably within a month of sowing these plants. Depending on the size of the weeds, you will need to use a weeder, a hoe or a sprayer.
- Sugarcane harvester with an attached sugarcane trailer - the only way to harvest sugarcane is with a special, self-propelled sugarcane harvester. When buying a harvester, make sure that you add a trailer hitch for the purchased model (for a small additional fee). Thanks to this, you will be able to connect a sugarcane-dedicated trailer to the harvester. During the harvest, the harvester will cut most of the sugarcane and immediately transfer the crops to the trailer, leaving the rest on the ground, allowing the sugarcane to regrow. Sugarcane cannot be stored in silos, so you have to keep them in a trailer or dump them somewhere else.
Periodic calendar and sales
Reed can be planted in March and April and harvested in October and November. It's best to sell it in July - it's worth around 375 euros per tonne at that time. However, it is much more profitable to process it into sugar in a sugar mill. Two kilograms of sugarcane make one kilogram of sugar. You can sell the sugar for 1,575 euros per tonne or use it in production chains for other, even more valuable products such as cakes.
