If you are looking for realistic agricultural experience in games, you have to play Farming Simulator. This series is the most popular one in its niche. No wonder that each installment brings thousands of players together. In the case of the newest part, with the number 25, it is the same. It is a great hit on Steam with over 120 000 concurrent players (via SteamDB), which is even greater than in the case of Dragon Age: The Veilguard (almost 90 000). Of course, PC is not the only platform on which FS25 was released. The game also appeared on the current generation of consoles – PS5 and Xbox Series X / S. What about the older ones, though? Let’s look at it.

Farming Simulator 25 (FS25) - PS4 and Xbox One Release Explained

Sadly, the game is not available on the previous generation of consoles (PS4 and Xbox One). While they are still very popular, once we look at the release date of Xbox Series X /S and PlayStation 5, we can see that it was in November 2020, so 4 years ago. It was inevitable that at some point developers would stop supporting the older devices, and it seems that more and more games are available on the new platforms exclusively.

We need to underline that games have bigger and bigger requirements for working properly. Each year it becomes more difficult for developers to optimize the titles for old generations. At the same time players expect progress in graphics and gameplay. More platforms mean more work to do and less people to work on the actual game development.

Even without PS4 and Xbox One support, it seems that there is a lot on Giant Software’s plate. It seems that FS25 has some technical issues. Fans report problems with performance, crashes, contracts or controllers.
