Heroes of Hammerwatch II was released a few days ago. The game offers roguelike gameplay and 7 distict classes to play. Not all of them are available from the beginning of your adventure. Let’s look at them and check out what they are good at.

All Classes in Heroes of Hammerwatch 2 (HoH 2)

  1. Remember that each character will get a specialization at level 10. It will allow you to get more unique skills.
  2. Classes which are unavailable from the start can be unlocked by finding proper NPCs in the Dark Caves, Temple and Dark Citadel.
  3. Title is a passive bonus, which is granted for each level of your character. Each class has its own skill, which it empowers. Because of that, it is good to level up all fighters.
  1. Paladin – one of the starting classes.
  2. Ranger – one of the starting classes.
  3. Rogue – you have to unlock it in the Caves.
  4. Sorcerer – you have to unlock it in the Dark Citadel.
  5. Warlock – You have to unlock it in the Temple.
  6. Warrior – one of the starting classes.
  7. Wizard - one of the starting classes.

Paladin in Heroes of Hammerwatch 2 (HoH 2)

Title: Grants Armor.

This class is characterized by good survivability; that’s why it is ideal for new players (you look at a tank). Moreover, Paladins can heal themselves using a skill. It means that you can leave the potion for really dire situations.

  1. Blessed Strike (Physical, Spell) – You strike all enemies in the area in front of you, dealing Phyical Damage.
  2. Lay on Hands (Spell) – You heal yourself and all allies around you.
  3. Armored Knight (Passive) – Increases your Armor, and grants a chance to block 100% Physical damage.
  4. Conviction (Passive) – Your Melee weapon hits have a chance to restore some of your Mana.

Ranger in Heroes of Hammerwatch 2 (HoH 2)

Title: Grants Attack Power.

As you may imagine, Ranger focuses on attacks from distance. Its main strength is its speed and ability to avoid attacks.

  1. Marked Shot (Bow, Physical, Spell) – You fire a projectile that deals Physical damage and applies Marked to all enemies in the targeted area. You deal more damage to enemies inflicted by Marked.
  2. Trap (Physical, Spell) – Throws a trap that deploys after a brief duration. The traps deal Physical damage in a small area when triggered and inflict Cripple.
  3. Rhythm (Passive) – You gain Weapon Crit Chance, and scoring Weapon Crits grant you stacks of Rhythm. Each stack of Rhythm increases your Weapon Crit Chance and Damage.
  4. Survivalist (Passive) – Each time you get hit you gain a buff that reduces damage taken for a short period. This effect has a short cooldown.

Rogue in Heroes of Hammerwatch 2 (HoH 2)

Title: Grants Gold Gain.

Roge is a typical DPS character. As the name suggests, this class is characterized by fast attacks. Moreover, it has some decent AOE abilities.

  1. Fan of Knives (Physical, Spell) – Throws several knives in a cone dealing Physical damage.
  2. Flurry of Blades (Physical, Melee, Spell) – You perform a series of strikes, hitting all enemies in an area around you, dealing Physical damage.
  3. Slice and Dice (Passive) – Hits with Melee skills grant stacks of Slice and Dice. Each stack increases your Weapon Speed. You lose all stacks at once if the duration runs out.
  4. Sidestep (Passive) – Grants Evasion and a single stack of guaranteed evasion that is recharged every few seconds.

Sorcerer in Heroes of Hammerwatch 2 (HoH 2)

Title: Grants Mana Regeneration.

Another good DPS dealer. However, it’s a little bit squishy. Good choice for Lightning enthusiasts.

  1. Discharge (Lightning, Spell) – You unleash several arcs of lightning in a cone, dealing Lightning damage. Each enemy can only be hit by one arc.
  2. Elemental orb (Spell) – You conjure a slow moving orb that continuously deals damage of all elements to nearby enemies.
  3. Innate Power (Passive) – Grants Spell Crit Chance.
  4. Elemental Affinity (Passive) – When casting a Spell you gain Elemental Affinity of the same element as the spell cast. You deal more damage of the corresponding element as long as you have Elemental Affinity. You can only have one type of element active at a time.

Warlock in Heroes of Hammerwatch 2 (HoH 2)

Title: Grants Fire, Ice, Lightning and Poison Resistance.

Despite being a magical character, Warlock is a close combat fighter.

  1. Demon’s Tail (Physical, Spell) – Conjures a diabolical whip to lash out in a forward direction, dealing Physical damage and inflicting Slow.
  2. Dark Ritual (Spell) – You start performing a ritual that completes after a few seconds. Enemies take Physical damage while inside the area and even more damage when it completes. The ritual is terminated if you leave the area before it is completed.
  3. Drain Essence (Passive) – You gain stacks of Essence when hitting enemies with Melee skills. Each stack increases your Health and Mana. This effect has a short cooldown.
  4. Aura of Atrophy (Passive) – You project an aura around you that makes enemies deal less damage.

Warrior in Heroes of Hammerwatch 2 (HoH 2)

Title: Grants Health.

A versatile melee fighter comfortable wih a wide variety of weaponry.

  1. Whirling Axes (Physical, Spell) – You throw two spinning axes that deal Physical damage to all enemies in their paths.
  2. War Cry (Spell) – You and all allies in the area gain a buff that increases Weapon and Movement Speed for a period.
  3. Warrior’s Constitution – Increases your health and Poison Resistance.
  4. Killing Spree – You gain stacks of Killing Spree by killing enemies. Each stack increases your damage. You lose all stacks at once if the duration runs out.

Wizard in Heroes of Hammerwatch 2 (HoH 2)

Title: Grants Spell Power.

A typical mage. Ideal character for those who like mages in DnD.

  1. Magic Missiles (Spell) – Discharges several magic missiles that seek out nearby enemies and deal Physical damage on impact.
  2. Fireball (Fire, Spell) – Unleash a fireball towards the targeted location that explodes dealing Fire damage.
  3. Arcane Intellect (Passive) – Increases your Mana and Intelligence.
  4. Barrier (Passive) – You generate protective stacks of Barrier over time. When taking damage a stack is expended, lowering the damage taken.
