Song of the Sentry | Side Quests in The Bard's Tale 4 The Bard's Tale 4 Guide and Walkthrough
Last update: 08 October 2018
At the beginning of Baedish Lowlands you will meet a man standing in front of a castle. He will ask you to help him open the gate and explore the inside. To open it you need to ring the bells in the following order: 1, 3, 1, 2, 4, 2, 3 (1 is the smallest one, 4 is the largest one).
Inside you will stumble upon similar bells. Use the same order as before. The traps will start moving, walk through them. Pull a lever located near the save totem to stop them.
Behind the gate you will find a puzzle with wheels functioning exactly like the bells before. Use the same order as before - 4 is the largest wheel, 1 is the smallest.
Continue into a room with buttons, with glyphs on them. Activate the first button with the rune resembling the letter "M". You now need to find an open totem with a rune, behind the gate. It is located to the left. Set it up to match the one on the button.
The second such a totem, connected with the second button, is located behind a rock, opposite the gate. The third one will open to the right and the last one right next to the gate on the left side.
You will unlock bells near the buttons. Use the same order again (1 is the smallest bell, 4 is the largest one).
Continue forward. You will notice stones surrounded by bars and bells. Play the same tune as always, assuming that the glyph resembling the up-arrow is 4, "F" is 3, "T" is 2 and "X" is 1. The runes on the previous bells were the hint.
You will now be in a room with candles. You need to arrange them in a specific order. Start with the chapel on top of which a candle was lying and arrange them to your right. Once six of them (half of the circle) is arranged, a spear will appear on the last one.
Once you pick up the spear, you will complete the Song of the Sentry side quest in The Bard's Tale 4: Barrows Deep.
