Rogue | Character classes in The Bard's Tale 4 The Bard's Tale 4 Guide and Walkthrough
Last update: 16 October 2018
The following chapter contains all the information you need to play as a Rogue in Bard's Tale IV. Here you will find information on the starting parameters of the class, roles that suit the class the best, as well as advice on the development of this character class.
General information
The Rogue specializes both in close and long ranged attacks. They deal the highest amount of damage from all of the character classes. Depending on the specialization you choose for the rogue, this class can serve two roles. Due to the fact that the rogue can use stealth, it functions brilliantly in combat on the first line. If you, however, decide to fight using a bow, the character should be standing in the second line.
Starting parameters and abilities
The Rogue has the following starting parameters:

Tips
- Use the Hide in Shadows ability as often as possible. Thanks to that, the Rogue will not be attracting enemy attention. Instead, they will be focusing on the more durable Fighter. Additionally, the attack of the Rogue in the next turn will be empowered.
- The Rogue is definitely more powerful when fighting with a dagger. This weapon deals higher damage than a bow, making it more effective in combat. Use the bow only when you must target an enemy in the back row.
- The core of the Rogue is his attack power, which is why you should invest in Strength, not Constitution. This will allow you to use the attacks that the class can perform to their fullest potential.
- Rogue with a bow is excellent at applying status effects on enemies. Because of that, archers are effective at increasing the amount of damage dealt in combat.
