Last update: 04 October 2018
The Bard is one of the playable character classes in Bard's Tale IV. In this chapter, you will find all of the information about this specific character class. You will discover, among other details, what are the functions of this class in your team, and you will find some advice on the development of this class.
Basic Information
The Bard is characterized by similar Constitution to a Rogue. However, he does not have the ability to conceal himself, which makes him more vulnerable to attacks. This is why placing a Bard in the first line is quite risky. Especially since the Bard is an extremely important character class. Bards work great as support heroes, imposing status effects on enemy units. In the case of this class, an elf is your best choice.

Advice
- The Bard works great as a unit that weakens enemies, and also as an attacker. The class has a set of abilities that affect all enemies in a given group. Always have these types of skills in the Bard's proficiency book. These include, e.g. the Wayland's Watch. The Bard can also have skills that are very similar to those possessed by a Fighter.
- Always have alcohol on your character, as it allows you to strengthen your bard and also lets him gain Spell Points that are necessary for some of the abilities which are characteristic of this class. Each type of liquor has its own properties, so you must have several different types of drinks to get the right results. In addition, each consumed unit of alcohol adds to the bard's strength, which translates into the greater power of his attacks.
- Always have two types of songs. One that supports the party and one that affects opponents. Thanks to this, the bard will have an almost global impact on the battlefield.
- Do not forget about the starting skill Sanctuary Score. It is usable every turn and allows you to protect a selected team member. It can save a character's life in a critical situation.
