This chapter contains a list of all the skills available to the Rogue in Bard's Tale IV. They have been divided according to their functions. The descriptions also include the particular features and useful applications.
Attack
This section contains all the offensive abilities.

Sniper: Novice | Active | 1. | Unlocks ability: Loose Arrow, which allows dealing physical damage to any enemy on the map | Very useful when fighting multiple archers. Allows to attack them directly, without having to deal with the warrior that protects them |
Scrapper: Novice | Active | 1. | Unlocks ability: Slinking Assault, which deals damage to the first enemy in range and withdraws the Rogue to the back | This ability is great for fighting in the first line. After attacking the enemy, the character is pulled back, which allows avoiding potential retaliation |
Swordsman: Novice | Active | 1. | Unlocks ability: Storm of Blades, which deals a set amount of damage twice | This ability is very useful throughout the entire game. It deals loads of damage, especially if the character has many strength points |
Critical Hit: Bows & Daggers | Passive | 1. | 10% chance for a critical hit (50% more damage) | Incredibly useful at any stage of the game. This ability will allow you to deal powerful critical hits that can turn the tide in your favor |
Critical Hit: Swords: | Passive | 1. | 20% chance for bypassing all cooldowns of the character | This ability allows one hit to reset all cooldowns of the character |
Killer | Active | 1. | Unlocks ability: Razor Strop - increase damage for three turns | |
Strength 2 | Passive | 2. | +1 strength point | Increased melee attack speed |
Murderer | Passive | 2. | Enables your character to wield a second, one-handed weapon in the other hand | This lets you hold two daggers, for example |
Sniper: Journeyman | Passive | 2. | +1 strength point | Increased melee attack speed |
Sniper: Master | Active | 2. | Unlocks ability: Rain of Arrows, which deals areal physical damage at the beginning of each turn | Great for attacking large groups of enemies |
Scrapper: Journeyman | Passive | 2. | +1 strength point | Increased melee attack speed |
Swordsman: Master | Active | 2. | Unlocks ability: Passing Slash, which attacks the first enemy in range and moves the character to the nearest tile | This is perfect when you have to retreat from your position |
Scrapper: Master | Active | 2. | Unlocks ability: Blood for Blood, which deals physical damage to the nearest enemy and moves the attacker to the nearest back tile | Useful mostly because it allows you to retreat and attack with the same move |
Hitman | Active | 2. | Allows creating the potion: Deathcap Poison, which can be used in combat to apply the status: poisoned | This status deals physical damage throughout two turns |
Reckless | Active | 2. | Unlocks ability: All Out Assault, which makes the next attack deal 100% more damage; the next attack received by the user also deals 100% more damage | The ability is great for finishing a fight. You can also use it when there are no archers on the map and you want to withdraw the archer to the second row until the end of the fight |

Master Thief | Passive | 3. | Give the Rogue a chance to steal all the items sold to a merchant, after the transaction. +2 constitution and +1 strength |
Crafting

Alchemic Enthusiast | Passive | 2. | The potions' effects last twice as long | Only useful if you're using potions |
Master Pyrosmith | Active | 2. | Unlocks the formulas for: Dragon's Bile Bomb, which creates areas that apply burning statuses to enemies inside them | This ability is particularly useful for its ability to destroy environmental obstacles |
Master Craftsman | Active | 2. | Unlocks the formulas for: Caltrops, which deal physical damage to enemies. They also remain on empty tiles and deal additional damage to the enemy that steps on them Deploy Barricade, which creates a barricade that has a certain amount of "HP" | Very useful in combat. Caltrops are great as a source of additional damage to enemies in the first line. The barricade, on the other hand, allows decreasing the damage dealt by enemies |
Master Chemist | Active | 2. | Allows brewing potions such as: Draught of Power, Elixir of Focus, and Tonic of Armor | These potions are improved versions of their weaker counterparts - they provide an even greater boost to the character's parameters |
