Recommended compositions - a team of four in The Bard's Tale 4 Game The Bard's Tale 4 Guide and Walkthrough
Last update: 04 October 2018
Choosing a team in Bard's Tale IV is extremely important. A well-chosen team can transform into an unstoppable force, which will make hostile units crumble. In the game you can have a maximum of six teammates, however, in the initial phase of the gameplay, you can only move with a four-person squad. In this chapter, you will find two recommended team compositions, for a four-person operation.
The basic team
This is the most basic team, as it consists of one representative of each class that is implemented in the game.
Character class | Useful skills | Function |
Fighter | Lumbering Strike, Storm of Blades, Chop | This is the most resilient character in the team. He should always stand in the front. This character should draw the attention of the enemies at all costs so that the opponents focus their attacks on him. This way, you cover the rest of the team. |
Practitioner | Dragons Breath, Arcane Barrage, Science | A supporting unit. It is characterized by the lowest constitution stat, and that is why it should stand directly behind the Fighter. Use the Spell Points that this class has at its disposal to launch attacks that do not consume action points at the same time. Use it also to break enemy spells. |
Rogue | Hide in Shadows, Cavity Search, Sinking Assault | The Rogue can be located anywhere, although he works better in the first line, where he has a greater ability to act. He deals the most damage from all of the classes. Use the "Hide In Shadows" ability to divert attention and gain an additional attack bonus. |
Bard | Wayland's Watch, Kael's Rudiment, Sanctuary Score | This is a character who has a global impact on the fight, with the help of songs that can significantly affect the fate of the battle. The Bard should be protected at all costs. Therefore, keep him in the second row. He has strength similar to the Rogue, but he cannot afford to draw attention to himself. |
Two Bards
Bards are the strongest character class in Bard's Tale IV. They can sing songs that have a gigantic impact on the tide of battle. That is why you can replace the Practitioner with another Bard. However, this will affect the skills that the other two classes must possess.
Character class | Useful skills | Function |
Fighter | Storm of Blades, Chop, Head Knocker | As in the previous example, he will be used to draw the enemies in. In this case, however, he will also have to break the spells of the hostile casters. This is why the Head Knocker ability is also required. |
Rogue | Hide in Shadows, Cavity Search, Sinking Assault, Science | The rogue's function will not change substantially. You will still have to try to keep him hidden so that he does not draw too much attention to himself. However, he will additionally take over the responsibility of brewing potions for the team. |
Bard | Wayland's Watch, Kael's Rudiment, Sanctuary Score | This character should be protected at all costs. This bard should be located directly behind the Fighter. He can use the songs that will have a great impact on the fight. |
Bard | Sanctuary Score, Wayland's Watch, Head Knocker, Storm of Blades | This bard should be located in the first row. He is less focused on songs, but he does very well in more direct combat. Just like the Fighter, he can also break the spells of the enemy casters. |
