Last update: 10 July 2020
On this page of our guide you will find information about the development of the village in Minecraft.
Your duties
If you want to be fully involved in the life of the villagers you should:
- Create a fence around the village - this way you limit the entry of aggressive mobs;
- Breed animals - you provide additional raw materials;
- Increase the population - to keep the village expanding;
- Build new houses - this way you widen the boundaries of the village and strengthen it.
Building new houses
Now that we've mentioned new houses, it's worth taking a look at this topic. If you're creating new buildings, you have to remember the most important thing. All doors must be wooden. The villagers are unable to open the Iron Doors. If you create one, you'll block their access to the new building right away.
Breeding villagers
If you want to increase the population in the village you have to take care of a few aspects.
Number of beds
There must be more beds in the village than the villagers themselves. You can set them up in existing homes or create bedrooms in newly built housing units.
Quantity of food
Villagers will not reproduce unless they are able to provide the little ones with a decent life. That's why they need food. It is best to pass the harvested vegetables to the farmer, who will pass on his stock to the rest of the population.
Another option is to throw meals at the villagers, and they will happily pick them up and eat them, and this will increase their desire to have offspring.
