Respawn Anchor is a new block that allows you to set a spawn point in the Nether.
Mining the Respawn Anchor
Respawn Anchor can be collected with a diamond pick or one improved with netherite.
Creating a Respawn Anchor
Respawn Anchor can be created using 6 Crying Obsidian and 3 Glowstone.
This page of our guide contains all the information about Crying Obsidian. You'll find out, among other things, its purpose and how to get it.
Uses
As stated at the beginning, Respawn Anchor is used for respawning in the Nether. It works even when you've left the Nether.
To charge Respawn Anchor you can use up to four Glowstone blocks. When the object is charged, you can use it to set spawn (right-click on Respawn Anchor). Every time you die, it exhausts one charge.
"You have no home bed or charged respawn anchor, or it was obstructed" is the message that will show up if:
- Respawn Anchor will be destroyed;
- Respawn Anchor charges run out;
- The area around Respawn Anchor makes respawn unavailable.
