On this page of our Minecraft guide, you will find a list of the new blocks added with the Nether Update.

Soul Fire

It forms naturally in Soul Sand Valley biome of Nether. It has a blue texture.

It is stronger than regular fire, inflicting twice as much damage.

Soul Torch

It has a light level of 10, and a regular torch has 14.

Soul Lantern

It has a light level of 10, and a normal Lantern has 15.

Soul Campfire

A new version of Bonfire. It has a light level of 10, while a normal bonfire has 15.

Crimson and Warped Fungi

It appears in Crimson and Warped Forests, respectively.

Crimson and Warped Planks

This material can't burn. You can use them to craft plates, stairs, fences, gates, pressure plates, buttons, signs, doors and trapdoors.

Twisting Vines

This plant occurs in the Warped Forest. It grows out of the ground and can be climbed.

Soul Soil

It appears in the Soul Sand Valleys.

Basalt

Basalt pillars are made out of it. Appears in the Soul Sand Valleys and Basalt Deltas.

Blackstone

It forms naturally in Basalt Deltas. It has many varieties that can be used for decorative purposes.

Nether Gold Ore

You can extract 1 to 5 gold nuggets using any pickaxe. You can melt it to get 1 gold ingot.

Crying Obsidian

It is naturally generated as part of ruined portal structures. You can get it:

  1. as loot in the chests of the bastion's remains;
  2. by bartering with Piglins.

Ancient Debris

It can be converted to netherite by smelting it in a furnace.

Lodestone

You can make it out of eight carved stone bricks and one netherite ingot or find it in a chest.
