In this Chapter of crafting tutorial for Minecraft, you will find blueprints for creating edible items, as well as plants and seeds. Without food, the hero will not last long, as hunger is decreasing all the time. The use of a variety of food allows you to diversify the gameplay and protect yourself from death in critical situations. In addition, animals and plants allow you to further diversify the gameplay and bring additional complexity to the game.

Melon
Converting the melon into the form of a block. Not recommended, because you can, this way, obtain 3-7 pieces, which are edible; watermelons can be grown. Watermelons you will find mainly in the jungle.
Melon seeds
Melon seeds. can be sown or fed to chicken.
Glistering Melon
It is more nutritious than the regular melon, can be used to breed horses or as a component of regenerating potions.
Sugar
Sugar is obtained from sugar cane. It is used for crafting pies and for potions. You will also make a Fermented Spider Eye and cure horses with it. Cane often grows near water bodies, on the sand; cane can be grown.
Golden Carrot
It boosts the effect of healing and satisfying hunger, and is used for breeding horses as well as a component of potions.
Bowl
In the bowl you can prepare the mushroom stew. In addition, you can cook Beetroot Soup and Rabbit Stew.
Mushroom Stew
A cheap and nutritious stew of two types of mushroom. The Bowl can be then reused.
Note: using a bowl on Mooshrooms, you instantly get mushroom soup!
Beetroot Soup
Beetroot Soup can be produced using a wooden bowl, and using 6 beets. It's very nutritious.
Rabbit Stew
This is a fairly complex recipe that will allow you to restore half of health and the same amount of Saturation (resistance to hunger). You need: a bwl, any fungus, roasted meat, rabbit, fried potatoes and carrot.
Enchanted Golden Apple
The Enchanted Golden Apple can be eaten when your hunger bar is full. Replenishes a big amount of health and it adds a five-minute immunity to fire and damage. Introduces the state of absorption for 2 minutes and strong health regeneration for 30 seconds.
Golden Apple
The Golden Apple can be eaten at full health, it introduces the state of regeneration for 4 seconds, and of absorption (additional health hearts) for 2 minutes. You can feed it into horses to make them start to mate.
You can use them together with a potion of equanimity to heal NPC zombie settlers.
Hay Bale
Wheat can be arranged into a bale. You can use it either as a decorative element or feed it to horses and donkeys or mules. Also, take advantage of them by the bonfire to create a smoke signal seen from a long distance, and is also well suited for composting. Reduces drop damage by 80%.
The process is reversible: from a bale of hay, you will receive 9 pieces of wheat.
Cake
It replenishes quite a lot of health and hunger. It can be placed on a block and eaten as bits. It can also serves as a decorative element. Eating a piece restores 2 points of hunger (7 pieces in the cake). It lures pandas.
Bread
Bread is easy to craft and it has moderate health-replenishing parameters.
Bread lets you get more settlers (requires 3 pieces).
Cookie
One cookie restores one point of hunger. Cookies are not too nutritious, but great for compost (fertilizer).
Pumpkin Pie
Regenerates 4 hunger points. You must use a "non-hollow" pumpkin (hollow pumpkins using the Shears).
Pumpkin seeds
Pumpkin seeds can be either sown or fed to chicken. You also get seeds by hollowing out a pumpkin put on the ground using Shears.
Honey Bottle
You can drink from a honey bottle. It restores 6 hunger points and removes the poisoned effect.
You harvest honey from beehives and nests. You can turn it into sugar or a block of honey.
Beetroot
Beetroots restore 1 hunger point. They can be used to lure and breed pigs.
Apple
Apples restore 2 hunger points. You can use them to make a Golden Apple and an Enhanced Golden Apple.
Carrot
Carrots restore 2 hunger points. You can use it to make a Golden Carrot, a carrot on a stick and a Rabbit Stew.
Spider Eye
Spider Eye is used in Alchemy and some dishes. Eating the eye, however, is not a good choice. It adds one hunger point and inflicts poison effect, which will take 4 health points.
Chorus Fruit
You get Chorus Fruit by destroying a plant of that name. It restores two health points and teleports you to a random place. You can cook it to make Popped Chorus Fruit.
Steak
Steak is fried raw beef. You can get it, for example, from cows.
This dish restores 8 health points, and it can be used to breed dogs.
Cooked Chicken
Cooked chicken is fried poultry. You can get it from a dead chicken.
This dish restores 3 health points, and it can be used to breed wolves.
Cooked Salmon
You make Cooked Salmon by frying a fish you cought. However, don't confuse it with regular Cooked Cod.
This dish restores 6 health points.
Pufferfish
It is a fish used mainly in alchemy. Eating it isn't recommended - it inflicts 3 negative effects:
- Nausea;
- Poisoning;
- Hunger.
Sweet Berries
You get Sweet Berries from a sweet berries bush. They restore 1 health point.
Cooked Porkchop
A Cooked Porkchop is a fried raw porkchop dropped by a dead pig. However, you can get a Cooked Porkchop straight away - kill a pig with a Fire Aspect sword or Flame bow. A Cooked Porkchop restores 8 hunger points.
Cooked Mutton
A Cooked Mutton is a fried piece of raw mutton dropped by a dead sheep. However, you can get a Cooked Mutton straight away after killing a burning sheep. Cooked Mutton restores 6 hunger points.
With Cooked Mutton, you can feed, breed and heal wolves.
Cooked Rabbit
A Cooked Rabbit is a fried piece of rabbit meat. It restores 5 hunger points.
With Cooked Rabbit, you can feed, breed and heal wolves.
Baked Potato
It's just a potato baked in the oven. It restores 5 hunger points.
Baked Potato can be used to prepare Rabbit Stew.
