Survival guide: day one - how to survive? what to do? how to start?

Let's start with the basics! After buying the game, selecting a difficulty level and creating a world, you will start your first day in Minecraft. Don't worry, with our advice, you will be safe.

After you start the game, you may feel a bit lost, because there are no hints as to what you are supposed to do, and how. Thanks to this guide, you will start the game in a good way, without taking the unnecessary attempts that might end in a failure, and starting over.

The first thing that you should do is collect 5 bricks of any wood. To do that, target a tree and press, and hold down, the attack button. You will notice small cracks appearing on the tree. Once you have destroyed it, you may collect wood - the object on the ground, next to your character (as decreased in size levitating bricks) are automatically "sucked in" by your character. you will also receive the "Getting Wood" achievement.

Now, press the inventory button. For performing this action, you will receive the "Taking Inventory" achievement. Carry over the wood to one of the four slots next to the character's icon. In the slot that used to be empty, you will notice the effect of processing the materials provided in the given fields. This is the process that the game calls crafting and allows you to create certain goods, using the elements that are available to you, with adherence to recipes. Now, click the boards, to craft them. In the corner you will notice information on the number of object created with one click.

Now you need to craft the Crafting Table by stacking four boards in the crafting field. You will receive the "Benchmarking" achievement. Next, you need to select it from the quick menu and place it in your world by clicking. Then, click on the table to open it.

Note that the Crafting Table has 9 slots for the materials to craft items. Thanks to this, you can craft items which you would not be able to craft otherwise.

Now you can craft your first tool. It is going to be a wooden pickaxe. Regardless of the materials for its blade (just like in the case of the remaining tools) the recipe always looks like in the above screenshot. The recipes for the remaining tools can be found in the chapter devoted to Crafting. After you have crafted the pickaxe you will receive the "Time to Mine!" achievement.

The problem in the game is not to survive the day, but to survive the night, when the dangerous mobs crawl out to the surface. That is why, on day one, you should not occupy yourself with fighting them, but rather with avoiding them. Mobs appear in dark places, that is why the first element that you need to find is Coal. It will make it possible to craft a torch that provides light and safety. Coal is a common natural resource in the game, you can find it under the ground and on the surface. It is easiest to find it in the case of truncated mountains.

to craft a torch you need to use coal and stick, which results in four torches. To put the torch, use the action key and target the block - its upper part or any of its sides. You can destroy torches at any time, which will give you the opportunity to take it back into the inventory.

By looking at the Sun, you will be able to tell when dusk is coming. If this is what is happening, you should prepare a sleeping place for yourself. The best idea is to use a cave, where you can also dig overnight (if you have the torch). You can also dig a small cave yourself. Put a torch inside. A good idea is also to fit entrance door, which monsters cannot open (apart from zombie, that can destroy wooden door).

To build door, you need boards and crafting table, in which you arrange them with adherence to the 2x3 arrangement.

If you, however, still have some daylight to spend, you can set out to find sheep and food. Sheep, because thanks to wool that you receive after you kill them, you can craft a bed.

The bed will allow you to sleep through the night without the necessity to wait for daylight. to craft it, however, you need to use the above recipe: you need boards and wool. Bed is especially important because, after you sleep in one, becomes your spawn point up until it is destroyed. If it you sleep in a different bed, this will be the one to receive that function.

As the initial source for food, you can rely on animals and apples, which are easy to find.
