Ottegan Assault | Minikits and red bricks LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens Guide

On this page you will find information about location and ways to obtain of ten minikits and a red LEGO brick hidden in the optional mission titled "Ottegan Assault". You should look for these secrets in the free roaming mode of the game. Additionally, you should read the information available below in which you can find advices about properly preparing for the search.

Important information

You should look for secrets in this mission in free roaming mode, after you unlock a wide variety of playable characters. Only part of the secrets described below can be obtained while completing this level for the first time (in story mode).

What's important is that you can't obtain all secrets in this mission only by using characters unlocked during the main story. You must have at least two additional characters with unique abilities. The first ability you need is destroying cracked walls - you can buy Grummgar for these actions. The second required ability is swimming. In this case it is best to complete the side mission "Poe to the rescue" which unlocks Admiral Ackbar who has that ability.

Minikits 1 and 2 from the list below can be easily missed since you must get them during the controlled flight at the beginning of the mission. If you fail to get them, restart the mission and try again.

In addition to obtaining the secrets you can also try obtaining the title of a True Jedi. It is given to you if you manage to collect at least 175000 studs in this mission.

Minikit 1/10 - transporters 1 and 2

Special requirements: none

Location and how to unlock: Minikit can be obtained in story mode or in the free roaming mode. In order to obtain this minikit you must shoot down four transporter ships. You will destroy these units in pairs. First two transporters will appear just after the mission starts (above picture). The fact that they will be marked in yellow will help you in finding them (remaining targets are marked with red color).

Minikit 2/10

Special requirements: none

Location and how to unlock: Minikit can be obtained in story mode or in the free roaming mode. Soon after the mission starts and you participate in the controlled flight, the camera will rotate to the side. Once that happens, wait for a chance to get close to the circle of studs inside which there is the minikit. The circle is shown on the above picture and you must fly perfectly through the center of it.

Minikit 1/10 - transporters 3 and 4

Two other transporters will appear soon after you pass through the circle with the second minikit that was described above. You will be even informed by Captain Phasma that they were seen. Shooting them down will allow you to obtain the minikit.

Minikit 3/10

Special requirements: none

Location and how to unlock: Minikit can be obtained in story mode or in the free roaming mode. You must reach the part of the aerial battle in which you have full control over your machine. Ignore the current mission objective and fly towards the circle with the chessboard between two large islands. Fly through it to start the time trial. You must reach all control gates before the time runs out. Completing the race will be awarded with a minikit.

Minikit 4/10

Special requirements: a character that can use the Force (for example Luke or Darth Vader)

Location and how to unlock: Focus on finding this minikit after landing, eliminating the first group of enemies and shooting down the first flying drone. Remain in the starting area and walk towards the TIE fighter seen in the background. Use the Force on it in order to obtain the minikit.

Minikit 5/10

Special requirements: a character that can use Resistance terminals (for example Chewbacca)

Location and how to unlock: Minikit can be found in the starting area explored after landing. Go slightly to the left and find the Resistance terminal which can be used for example by Chewbacca or by Leia. Complete the simple minigame in order to open the stash with the secret.

Minikit 6/10 - space ship 1

Special requirements: none

Location and how to unlock: Minikit can be obtained in story mode or in the free roaming mode. In order to obtain this minikit you must shoot down three small airships. They can be found in various parts of the Ottegan enclave. In order to find the first airship, after landing in the enclave and defeating first enemies you must go to the left. There you will find it floating in the air in the place shown on the picture. Use any ranged weapon to shoot down the flying machine.

Red LEGO brick

Reward for obtaining the brick: Super Disco Blasters

Special requirements: a character that can break through cracked walls (for example Grummgar)

Location and how to unlock: The red LEGO brick can be found in the same area as the few previously described collectibles - just after landing in Ottegan enclave and defeating the first group of enemies. Go to the left from the landing zone. Near the place with the first spaceship related to minikit 6 there is a cracked wall. Break through it, for example as Grummgar. This will allow you to collect the red brick hidden behind the wall.

Minikit 7/10

Special requirements: a character that can swim (for example Admiral Ackbar)

Location and how to unlock: Minikit is located near the place where you landed and defeated first enemies. Look around for the water tank shown on the picture. Admiral Ackbar or any other character that is able to swim can jump inside it.

Minikit 8/10

Special requirements: none

Location and how to unlock: You can obtain this Minikit by shooting down the second drone equipped with rockets. Select any character that uses Force (for example Kylo Ren), catch the rocket with the Force and push it at the flying machine.

Minikit 9/10

Special requirements: none

Location and how to unlock: Minikit can be obtained in story mode or in the free roaming mode. You must reach the place where you can use construction bricks. Don't build the device with bombs needed for destroying the barricade too early. Instead of that, construct the object on the right side. You will automatically obtain the secret.

Minikit 6/10 - space ships 2 and 3

The second airship is floating above the area to which you will get after destroying the golden bomb. It is on the right side.

The last airship is in the area with Ettogan leader. Don't try capturing the leader. Instead, focus on shooting down the flying machine located on the right side.

Minikit 10/10

Special requirements: a character equipped with a gas mask (for example Finn)

Location and how to unlock: Minikit can be obtained after reaching the last area where the Ettogan leader is hiding. Don't capture him. Instead, first explore the area on the right side. There is a poison gas there. Finn or other character with a gas mask must walk through the green area. The back path will lead you to the minikit.
