How to quickly gather studs and on what should you spend them? LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens Guide

In The Force Awakens, similarly as in other games in the series, you can collect studs which are the in-game currency. Usually during a single large level you will gather a few dozen of thousands of studs. This is definitely not enough for some larger shopping.
Red LEGO bricks can be very helpful in obtaining greater numbers of studs. Especially the red bricks that increase multiplier can be helpful. Make sure to unlock the red bricks that provide you with x2 or x4 multiplier as quickly as possible - they can be found in fourth and in eighth chapter of the campaign. Try not to buy anything else until you get them - focus only on accumulating enough studs to unlock a higher multiplier. Continue this process until you find and buy the red brick with x10 multiplier (Lor San Tekka's Return mission). From now on you can freely plan further shopping. Characters with unique abilities required for unlocking some secrets (for example a character that can destroy broken walls or a character with flame thrower) should be your priority.
Large numbers of studs can be obtained for example by repeating previously completed missions. In that case you should select mostly levels in which you regularly found the most valuable studs - blue and violet ones.
The best way for quickly gathering studs is playing the bonus mission Dejarik Battle which is available while you're inside the Millennium Falcon. This mission is an arena on which holographic characters are fighting. After winning every round (and after completing the whole mission) many studs will appear on the arena and, if you collect them fast, you can become rich quickly. If you have the x10 multiplier active, then after completing this mission once you can gather even a few dozen of millions of studs.
