Chapter 9 - Destroy Starkiller Base | Minikits and red bricks LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens Guide

This page presents information on where to find and how to obtain ten minikits red LEGO brick in mission "Destroy the Starkiller base", i.e. the ninth chapter of the main story. Try to find these collectibles in the free game mode. Additionally, read information provided below, where you find information such as how to prepare yourself properly for the hunt.

Important information

It is best to try to find collectibles in this chapter in the free game mode, only after you have unlocked a greater number of playable characters. You can obtain only some of the below collectibles while playing this mission for the first time (in the story mode).

A very important piece of information is that you cannot obtain minikit 9 by using characters obtained in the storyline only. To gain access to that collectible, you will have to use a character that can destroy golden objects in the surroundings. You can obtain such a character by accessing the characters list and buying, e.g. Stormtrooper Heavy.

It is very easy to miss minikit 1, during the linear flight. Do not worry if your first attempt is a failed one. Remember its location and while replaying, ignore all of the enemy units and focus on steering the vehicle towards the collectible.

Apart from obtaining the collectibles, you can try to obtain the title of the True Jedi (True Jedi). It is awarded in this mission "Destroy the Starkiller base" after you collect, at least 100000 studs.

Minikit 1/10

Special requirements: none

Location and how to unlock: You can obtain this minikit either in the story mode or in the free game mode. You get the opportunity to obtain it during the linear flight right after the chapter starts. While flying, wait for the moment at which you approach the circle of studs shown in the above screenshot. You have to fly through the circle and, as a result, you receive the collectible.

Minikit 2/10

Special requirements: none

Location and how to unlock: You can obtain this minikit either in the story mode or in the free game mode. You have to progress to the dogfight around the enemy base, when you can control your fighter freely. Reach the checkered circle shown in the above screenshot. This will start a time trial, where you have to reach checkpoints one by one. For the duration of the trial, do not attack enemy units and use afterburner, as often as possible.

Minikit 3/10

Special requirements: none

Location and how to unlock: You can obtain this minikit either in the story mode or in the free game mode. You find the collectible soon after you start this part of the chapter, where you escape as Rey. You have to reach the ledge with several troopers on it, and the active force field, on the left. Destroy the nearby objects to unlock Multi-build bricks. Build the device above the force field that will be disabled. You can now collect the minikit.

Minikit 4/10

Special requirements: a character that uses the Force (e.g. Luke or Darth Vader)

Location and how to unlock: You can obtain this minikit soon after you collect the above, third collectible. This time, use the Multi-build bricks to build a ladder. After you reach the ledge above, switch to any character that uses the Force and use it on the objects on the left (the above screenshot). You will be able to walk over one of them. On the next ledge, use the Force again to open the door. You can now go get the minikit.

Minikit 5/10

Special requirements: none

Location and how to unlock: You can obtain this minikit either in the story mode or in the free game mode. Reach the first climbing wall. Start climbing, either as Rey or any other character that can do that. Climb in a straight line and you will reach a small stash with the minikit (the above screenshot).

Red LEGO brick

Reward for obtaining the brick: Regenerating Hearts

Special requirements: none

Location and how to unlock: You can obtain this red LEGO brick soon after you reach the location, where your characters (Rey and FN-1824, by default) have to split for a moment. As one of the characters, walk over to the edge and grapple to the grappling point shown in the above screenshot. Defeat the troopers there.

Go right a little and use the terminal that only members of the First Order can access (e.g. any stormtrooper). Solve the mini-game by matching the looks of a stormtrooper. You can now enter the room on the right. Eliminate the troopers here. You have to defeat 15 of them and only then does the red brick appear.

Minikit 6/10

Special requirements: a character that can hack terminals (e.g. C-3PO), a character equipped with gas mask (e.g. Finn)

Location and how to unlock: You can obtain the minikit after you reach the great hall with oscillator, where you have to plant four bombs. Go to the upper-right part of the hall. You have to shoot the buttons to disable the large force field and then, reach the interactive grappling point, and use grappling hook on it. After you reach the balcony above, take interest in the terminal shown in the above screenshot. Interact with it as e.g. C-3PO and solve the mini-game (green symbol, red symbol, yellow symbol).

Solving the minigame opens a passage to the left of the terminal. Before you reach the minikit you will have to deal with clouds of poison gas. To do this, switch to Finn or any other character with gas mask.

Minikit 7/10

Special requirements: a character that can use small hatches (e.g. BB-8)

Location and how to unlock: This minikit is in a small stash under the stairs between the upper and the lower levels of the hall with the oscillator. Reach the left part of that hall and find the small hatch shown in the above screenshot. Climb through the hatch as e.g. BB-8 and you will reach the collectible.

Minikit 8/10

Special requirements: a character that uses the Force (e.g. Luke or Darth Vader)

Location and how to unlock: You can obtain this minikit during your exploration of the lower level of the hall with oscillator. To obtain it, you will have to destroy four vertical lamps. Three of them are at the bottom of the screen, in the lower-left and lower-right parts of the oscillator hall. An example of such lamp has been provided in the above screenshot.

To reach the last lamp, you first have to gain access to the area behind the force field in the lower-left part of the oscillator hall. Start by performing all of the actions that will allow you to free Sentry Droids (they have been discussed in the walkthrough for this chapter). Select any of the characters using the light or the dark side of the Force and use the Force on the dome shown in the above screenshot, right next to the active force field.

After the dome is moved elsewhere, switch to Sentry Droid and interact with the mechanism that the removed dome revealed. This way, you will disable the force field on the left. You can now enter a new area. The fourth lamp is also at the bottom of the screen and it has been shown in the above screenshot.

Minikit 9/10

Special requirements: a character that uses the Force (e.g. Luke or Darth Vader), a character that can destroy golden objects (e.g. Stormtrooper Heavy)

Location and how to unlock: You will find this minikit in the same location as the fourth lamp connected with the above collectible, i.e. the area behind the force field in the bottom-left part of the oscillator hall. Look at the gilded object shown in the above screenshot. Select the character that can destroy golden objects, e.g. Stormtrooper Heavy. After you take your shot, assemble the minikit.

Minikit 10/10

Special requirements: none

Location and how to unlock: You can obtain this minikit either in the story mode or in the free game mode. Explore the bottom-right part of the oscillator hall and eliminate all of the enemies there. Destroy objects in the surroundings to reveal Multi-build bricks. Use them to build the fragment of the right chamber and you will gain access to the collectible.
