Chapter 3 - Niima Outpost | Minikits and red bricks LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens Guide

This chapter contains information about the locations and acquisition method of ten minikits and a red LEGO brick in the Niima Outpost mission, the third chapter of the main storyline. You should look for those secrets in the free roam mode of the game. Additionally, you should read the information listed below, containing, for instance, hints about proper preparations for the search.

Important information

You should look for the secrets hidden in this mission while playing in the free roam mode, after unlocking a wide array of different playable characters. Only a few of the following collectibles can be acquired during the completion of the chapter (during the story mode).

A thing worth noting is the fact that you won't be able to get all of the minikits by using only the characters that were unlocked by completing the main storyline. The fifth minikit requires a character capable of destroying golden blocks. You can bypass this by opening the character list and purchasing one of the characters with the desired unique ability. This can be, for instance, the stormtrooper equipped with the heavy blaster (Stormtrooper Heavy) shown on the above screenshot, or a stormtrooper equipped with a flamethrower (Flametrooper). The second problematic minikit is the sixth one. It requires a character capable of swimming. In this case the easiest way to unlock such a character is to complete the Poe to the Rescue side quest, giving you access to Admiral Ackbar.

Minikit number 1 requires hitting three birds located in different parts of the outpost with a ranged weapon. Remember about it and try to complete all of the activities as presented in this guide and you should have no problems acquiring all of the collectibles.

Aside from secrets you can also try to acquire the True Jedi title. This title is given to the player for collecting at least 120,000 studs during the Niima Outpost mission.

Red LEGO brick

Reward for collecting the brick: stud multiplier x8

Special requirements: a character capable of destroying silver objects (like Chewbacca).

Location and unlocking method: the red LEGO brick can be acquired at the start of the level. Slide below the first obstacle by using Rey or any similar character and you will reach an area where you must destroy another obstacle - a spaceship. Before you do that, however, focus on the silver objects located on top of the screen - those are marked on the above screenshot.

Use Chewbacca or any other character equipped with Thermal Detonators to destroy the silver objects. You must now remain at this place for several seconds. Wait for a rocket to be constructed at the place where there were the objects you've just destroyed and wait for the rocket to crush. After a short while a cargo with the red brick will land in the area.

Minikit 1/10 - birds 1 and 2

Special requirements: none

Location and unlocking method: the minkit can be acquired both in the story mode, as well as in the free roam mode. It requires you to hit three birds with a ranged weapon - the birds are located in different parts of the outpost. The first bird can be found after removing the ship obstacle and reaching a new area. The bird was marked on the above screenshot.

The second bird can be found after using the first hatch reserved for small characters. After going through the hatch you will notice the bird above it (as seen on the above screenshot).

Minikit 2/10

Special requirements: none

Location and unlocking method: the minikit can be acquired in the story mode, as well as in the free roam mode. You must reach a conveyor associated with the progress in the story mode and activate it. Jump on it with any character and start running along it. After a short while the minikit will appear on the conveyor.

Minikit 1/10 - bird 3

The third and the last bird can be found after reaching the place where you can construct a stationary cannon and use it to shoot at the bridge. After mounting the cannon, move the camera all the way to the left side. The bird can be seen on the above screenshot. Hitting it will give you the minikit.

Minikit 3/10

Special requirements: none

Location and unlocking method: the minikit can be acquired in the story mode, as well as in the free roam mode. You must reach the place where you can open the enclosure. Afterwards, jump on top of one of the lugga beasts. Break through the first obstacles using the beast (this is required to push the story as well). In the next area you must go to the right and destroy the object shown on the above screenshot. Doing so will unlock access to the minikit.

Minikit 4/10

Special requirements: a character capable of using the Force (like Darth Vader).

Location and unlocking method: the minikit can be acquired in the same area you've collected the previous one at, in the location neighboring the Lugga beasts' enclosure. Head all the way to the right and you will see a parked vehicle. You must use a character capable of using the Force to place three droids on top of it. Locations of the droids can be seen on the above screenshot. Afterwards, a large creature standing right next to it will grant you access to the secret.

Minikit 5/10

Special requirements: a character capable of destroying golden objects (like a stormtrooper with a heavy blaster), a character capable of using handles (like Chewbacca).

Location and unlocking method: the minikit can be acquired soon after the start of the cut-scene with the outpost bombardment. After you get rid of the nearby stormtroopers, examine the left corner of the first location. There are two golden objects there, both marked on the above screenshot. Use a stormtrooper equipped with a heavy blaster / flamethrower to destroy them.

You will grant yourself access to a new area on the left side. Search for a chest with a handle there. Chewbacca or any other strong character can interact with it. Do so and you will get the minikit.

Minikit 6/10

Special requirements: a character capable of destroying golden objects (like a stormtrooper with a heavy blaster), a character capable of swimming (like Admiral Ackbar).

Location and unlocking method: look for this minikit after completing the first blaster battle. Get back to the location where the mentioned battle took place. Locate the silver object marked on the above screenshot and destroy it with a character equipped with Thermal Detonators. Afterwards, construct a small water reservoir there and jump into it with Admiral Ackbar, or any other character capable of swimming. The minikit will be automatically tossed out of the reservoir.

Minikit 7/10

Special requirements: none

Location and unlocking method: the minikit can be acquired in the story mode, as well as in the free roam mode. You can look for it after you unlock access to the SN-1F4 droid. Use this robot to get to the left side, stop it at the place shown on the above screenshot and wait for the droid to dig out the minikit from the ground. You now must construct it.

MInikit 8/10

Special requirements: none

Location and unlocking method: the minikit can be acquired in the story mode, as well as in the free roam mode. When you start the controlled section on board of the Millennium Falcon, you must destroy four bridges along the way. You can achieve this by shooting constantly - thanks to that you won't miss any bridge.

Minikit 9/10

Special requirements: none

Location and unlocking method: the minikit can be acquired in the story mode, as well as in the free roam mode. You must advance to the final part of the aerial combat. DON'T DESTROY enemy TIE Fighters during it. Instead, focus on collecting the secret. You must locate and destroy three golden objects. One of the objects can be seen on the above screenshot.

Minikit 10/10

Special requirements: none

Location and unlocking method: the minikit can be acquired in the story mode, as well as in the free roam mode. The minikit is located in the same area as the ninth one described above. Don't destroy enemy TIE Fighters and focus on exploring the area. You must locate the rings shown on the above screenshot. The minikit is located in the middle of one of them - you just have to fly through it.
