Unlocking the optional boss fight
TheScolo the Seekerpedeis one of Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart 's optional bosses ,and this means that dealing with this monster is not required to complete the main storyline. You can also postpone the fight and later return once you have obtained better equipment.
The confrontation with Scolo takes place in the Gastropub arena in the Scarstu Debris Field. You must unlock the silver league of arena fighting - this becomes available after you have visited the planet Cordelion and dealt with Doctor Nefarious in the Gastropub.
You must first pass the four previous silver league bouts - we described this in more detail on the Arena silver cup page. Only then will the final battle titled Revenge of the Seekerpede be unlocked.
Battle description
As a reminder, Seekerpede was the main boss to defeat on the planet Sargasso - we described this confrontation in detail on a separate page in the Bosses chapter . As part of the battle, you must defeat a larger and stronger variety of mechanical myriapod - the Scolo.
Scolo the Seekerpede has a similar set of attacks to the "regular" Seekerpede. You need to watch out for:
- Upper limb sweeps - use double jumps or activate Phantom Dash,
- Shooting a powerful beam - use Hoverboot or Hoverboots to run away from it,
- scattering mines around - avoid mines and look around a lot until Skolopendra destroys them.
Scolo the Seekerpede is able to summon reinforcements to the arena. Focus on attacking the boss. You may want to consider summoning your own allies (Mr. Mushroom, Glove of Doom) to keep small enemies busy attacking them and less frequently harassing the controlled character.
A new attack that the Sargasso Seekerpede did not have is a low-altitude arena flight , during which the monster's tail will flop against the ground. Quickly jump aside to avoid being in the line of attack.
Use your strongest weapons to attack the boss, though it can also be helpful to use the Lightning Bolt, for example, which is able to temporarily hinder Scolo's attacks.
Due to the poor availability of ammunition in the arena, be aware that you will have to select weapons from your inventory one by one during the battle in order to continue attacking the boss.
Reward for winning the battle with Scolo
The reward for defeating Scolo is a Carbonox Chest. Collecting items from this set allows you to accumulate more bolts, which are used to make purchases from Mrs. Zurkon.
Additional confrontation with Scolo
As you progress through Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart , you may have another fight with Scolo Seekerpede. It has the same premise, i.e. the boss has the same attacks and again you need to deplete his entire health bar.
The additional duel with Scolopendra is optional. You can attempt the Twice As Nice battle in one of the gold round challenges in the arena. The gold challenges of the Gastropub arena become available only after returning from Viceron Prison.
It is worth noting that the second clash with Scolo is only part of the battle. The rest of the time you attack another boss - the Undead Grunthor.
