Collectibles list
There are 5 main secret collectibles to obtain on planet Ardolis:
- 2 gold bolts,
- 1 spybot,
- 2 armor pieces.
Additionally, you can find 1 Craiggerbear.
While exploring planet Ardolis, you can obtain a unique device called the Map-O-Matic, which marks the locations of collectibles on maps. This makes finding new and previously missed secrets much easier, although you can also manage without it by relying on the tips in our guide.
More detailed information about how to unlock the Map-O-Matic can be found on the Collectible Locator (Map-O-Matic) - how to get it? page , which is available in the FAQ section of our guide.
Armor piece 1 - Captain Starshield Boots
The armor piece is hidden in the pocket dimension. You can find it on the beach located near the center of the map. Start by reaching the wooden balconies from picture no. 1 and once you defeat the enemies, jump down or take the elevator to the beach below. On the beach, dispose of the large crab-like creatures and search for a pocket dimension to open.
Expect having to navigate an obstacle course that involves using the swingshot - as a reminder, you have to grab onto the hooks and hold the L1 button until the character starts spinning around the hook at maximum speed. This will ensure that you will fly far enough to progress the game and you won't collide with any of the explosive crates from the makeshift hoops.
You must reach the stable rock ledge at the very end of the obstacle course. As a reminder, the items in the Captain Starshield set are extremely valuable because they allow you to earn more XP and thus level up faster. If you have already collected all 3 armor pieces, the resulting XP bonus will amount to 20%.
Gold bolt 1
This bolt is levitating above the central water tank. You can use a Speetle to reach it. Once you take control of a Speetle, don't rush towards the next mission objective, but instead locate the ramp shown in picture no. 2. Jump off of it while the accelerator is on to reach the bolt and catch it mid-flight.
Gold bolt 2
You can get the bolt in the location of one of the Pirate Trials - it is the northwestern part of the map. There you will find a purple console to the left of a grunthor skeleton, allowing you to use the Glitch.
As a reminder, while controlling the Glitch (a miniature walking machine) you have to dispose of hostile computer viruses. Completing the Glitch section will unlock the locker with the gold bolt.
Armor piece 2 - Robot Pirate Helmet
You can find the armor piece in the oval cave in the northwest corner of the map, where a large battle takes place during one of the Pirate Trials.
Once you win all the fights, look around for the central mechanism and use the wrench on it. This will unlock the side locker from screenshot no. 2. Grab the top hook to reach it.
As a reminder, the Robot Pirate set pieces weaken the attacks of enemy pirates.
Craiggerbear
You can find the bear right after getting the armor piece described above, so after completing the third Pirate Trial. The plushie is in the location marked in the screenshot above.
Spybot 1
The spybot resides in the northeast corner of the map. This area isn't visited as part of the main storyline. You need to start in the central area, bounce off with the use of momentum, and glide toward the northeast path. Alternatively, you can try to reach this place with a Speetle.
You will arrive at a camp with an unattended spybot. There is a nest of Speetles nearby if needed, as well as a teleporter to return to the vicinity of the spaceship.
