This page of the Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart guide has the second part of the walkthrough for Scarstu Debris Field. The guide explains, among other things, how to enter the first arena fights, how to defeat 5 waves of enemies, and how to deal with the boss - Francois.
Sign up for the Arena
The terminal for starting fights in the arena is located inside Gastropub. When you interact with it, only the Bronze Cup will be available. Select the Welcoming Committee fight from the list - you will face Pierre's subordinates.
Battle Pierre's crew
You will be transported to the arena. During this particular battle, you can use all the weapons you had when you arrived at Gastropub.
You have to defeat 5 waves of opponents. Enemies will reach the arena through the rifts. This fight is not very complicated. You can use any weapon you like. You should also try to run around the arena a lot to avoid damage. Fortunately, new enemies will not appear until you have dealt with the previous group.
In the arena, you will find ammo and health crates.
As a reward for dealing with all of Pierre's subordinates, you will receive an armor fragment (Robot Pirate Boots).
Francois - boss fight
After dealing with waves of enemies, you are in for an unpleasant surprise. Pierre will not be facing Rivet. Instead, he will send Francois. You have to defeat this large mechanical opponent.
During the duel with Francois, similarly to other boss fights, it is good to use weapons that are effective at medium and long distance. We recommend targeting the core on the boss's chest, although hitting him in other parts of his armor will also deprive him of his health points.
The boss is equipped with a grenade launcher, with which he fires bullets frequently. Avoid places where they hit.
At the same time, watch out for the flames that spurt from time to time in the arena. Stay away from them as well. A certain convenience is that they are immovable and only appear where round burners are visible on the metal floor. Do not stop at them even if they are inactive at the moment.
Like the Nefarious City destroyer, Francois can make long jumps. Move quickly away from areas where the boss is going to land and hit the ground with great force. If you see that you won't be able to bounce back from where Francois landed, quickly activate Phantom Dash.
Francois' mechanical minions may join the fight over time. You can eliminate them by the way with area attacks, or you can continue to focus on the boss and stay in constant motion, so you don't get caught by regular enemies.
Try not to prolong the fight too much by attacking regular enemies, because you may run out of ammunition for your favorite weapons and would have to search for it in crates or change weapons. Defeat Francois to win the second bronze round.
Return to the Ship
Pierre will give you the part you are looking for. Watch a cut-scene showing the conversation with Ratchet. If you want to continue fighting the optional arena battles, check out the Arena - Bronze Cup page in our walkthrough.
If you plan to focus on the main storyline, head for the Gastropub's exit. On the way to the ship, you can talk again to Mrs. Zurkon. She now sells, e.g. Drillhound that costs 10,000 bolts. Remember, if you are short on bolts, you can repeat some of the arena fights. Drillhound shoots drills, which can additionally be self-guided (pressing R2 halfway activates the targeting function).
When you return to the ship, you have 3 options:
- Return to Sargasso to complete the optional objective related to Morts. We described it on the Return to Sargasso - Trudi page.
- Fly over to Savali - this is a new map you can explore.
- Fly over to Blizar Prime - this is a new map you can explore.
The order of visiting the planets from the list is not important. You will need to visit both Savali and Blizar Prime. We recommend going to Savali first to unlock a very useful gadget - Hoverboots.
