Last update: 23 June 2021
This page of the Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart guide has the first part of the walkthrough of Viceron and the Zordoom Prison located on that planet. You will learn how to get through the initial areas of the prison and where to find the other heroes - Clank, Ratchet and Kit.
Find the others
You start in the southern part of the map. To find the other two heroes, you must head north.
Avoid falling into the water (swimming is not available on Viceron) and look around for hooks to reach more distant ledges. You will use the first one shortly after you start exploring Viceron.
Mrs. Zurkon has set up her store at the Disposal Centre. She doesn't offer new weapons, but you may be able to purchase those you haven't got yet or upgrade your weapons with Raritanium.
You will encounter the first passage blocked by a barrier. Press the Circle to perform Phantom Dash - this move will allow you to go through the barrier without any problems.
You will start encountering the first Nefarious machines. Always eliminate ranged enemy units first. If you have the Headhunter (sniper rifle), you can also target the heads installed on some machines.
It is worth exploring the eastern part of this area - you will come across a Gold Bolt that can be picked up right away.
Reach the large console and interact with it. Next, use the grappling point from the image above. You must also pull yourself towards the rift while you are in the air.
Defeat more Nefarious machines and approach the entrance to the Processing Centre.
Before you explore the building, head east. Picture 1 shows the spot where you can start running on walls and bouncing off round platforms - this is optional. Completing this section will allow you to reach the side entrance to the ventilation shafts from picture 2 - you can smash them by throwing your melee weapon. In the ventilation shafts, you will find a Spybot (collectible.
You can get inside the Processing Centre by finding the exit in the ventilation tunnels or by returning to the building's main entrance.
You will discover that Clank is imprisoned in one of the cells. Deal with several of Nefarious' new machines and then find the crank shown in the picture. This will free Clank. You will also learn you where to look for Ratchet and Kit.
Free Ratchet and Kit
Be ready to fight Nefarious' machines- more will await you in the Processing Centre. After the battles are over, use the north exit of the building.
In the distance, you will notice the cell where Ratchet and Kit are being held. Deal with more enemies - be on the move at all times, especially if you want to avoid sniperbots' lasers. The target will, unfortunately, start moving away - you have to follow it.
Explore the surrounding area before you venture further. In its northeastern corner, behind a crane holding a container, you will find a Gold Bolt - see the picture.
Since you cannot go straight north, you must take the path that leads west. Crossing the bridge will allow you to reach the prison building.
In the Prisoner Transfer Centre, you will encounter more machines. Fortunately, this is a large location - you can also go back to the previous area if necessary. Keep spiked enemies at bay and use area attacks.
You must reach the building's northern exit. You can also pull yourself towards the rifts here to get the Raritanium in the western part of the Transfer Centre.
When you get outside, you will have to deal with more enemies. Defeat all opponents and reach the crank. Using it will activate the energy bridge. You will also face a mini-boss - Transfer Manager.
The mini-boss is another variation of the Juggernaut. You can make this fight easier by using, for example, a sniper rifle or a rocket launcher to attack the Juggernaut from outside of its purple laser's reach.
After winning the battle, walk across the bridge. Unfortunately, the cage with the two remaining heroes will start "escaping" again. Grab the grappling point (hold L1) to move to the next part of the prison.
